We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and 3 days in November. We really liked the stay and especially our room (Deluxe). The room was spacious and very well organized, quite comfortable. The balcony opens to the swimming pool and the bar, every evening during happy hour you have live music.....we really enjoyed it. There is a dirty river/ drainage/ sewer close by, we could feel the bad smell once in a while. Believe me I don't think it affected me so much. The hotel is located quite close to the beach, it's just a 5 minute walk even with my three year old daughter. Patong beach is just too good, even though a bit touristy and crowded!!! The staff seemed quite friendly to us, their English is not great, but they are helpful. Breakfast had many options, standards were good. We tried the bar and restaurant for dinner - food to my surprise was quite good, reasonably priced - so were the cocktails.

This was a fantastic hotel. The staff was so friendly and made everything so enjoyable for us. Anything we needed they would have for us right away. Even when my daughter was sick they were quick to give me a number for a doctor and the next day was asking how she was doing. This hotel is not very large but that just means more service on a personal level. Even the hotel transfer and hotel taxi was a competitive rate and not higher like some hotels. The breakfast was really good and its included with the room. so if you are booking on agoda you do not have to pay the higher price to include breakfast. Even though it is only 4 stars it was much better than the 5 star hotel i stayed in at Bangkok. It is very clean. I loved the shower! I really enjoyed the free waters provided each day. I recommend buying snacks at the 7/11 just 2 stores down, they are cheaper than the ones in the room. I Also recommend trying the pineapple fritter desert from the hotel restaurant it is very good! It is true that there is a water way that runs by the hotel but it didnt distract us the hotel has very nice landscaping around it. the beach is a small walk away but not bad. The hotel is located perfectly outside the hustle of the night croud. The night market is right down the road but being a couple minutes away gives the hotel a quiet night to sleep. There is a restaurant called Shakers, it was good and just a little more down the road is the Hard Rock Cafe. I definitely recommend this hotel! Oh another tip.. check out the daily specials for the spa because you can save alot of money doing the specials and being a guest in the room you get a discount. The spa was very nice! much better than any of the ones on the road.

Room Tip: I like being on a higher floor for a better view but if you have kids that swim i recommend getting...

I have just stayed at the Blue Ocean Superior Room for almost a week, and I must say, for their most normal room type, I wonder how the better room types must be. Rooms were wonderfully designed, cozy, very clean and gives the feeling of relaxation from the very moment you enter it. I love how there are two separate showers in the bathroom, one being the rain shower.

The Staff at Blue Ocean Resort is basically up to Thai standards, very friendly, helpful and always smiling. I asked one of the staff to buy me some phone credit from a supermarket nearby, and he returned to within 5 minutes. Everyone seems to be very willing to help out, and you tend to warm to them after a while. All in all a great new resort, and great value for money, and I definitely recommend it.

We stayed here with family and friends 4 rooms.

Check-in
We were early for check-in and our rooms were not ready but this was no surprise as 2pm check-in is clearly stated on their website and is standard throughout the world(I never understood why people get so upset about this.)

Rooms
our room was a deluxe room which was on the end adjacent to the lobby. We did not hear any noise from the lobby as can sometimes be the case. The room was at least 1.5m wider than every body else's this includes the balcony. It also had extra chairs on the balcony and inside the room. The room overall, was clean but the finish of the decorating, tiling ect was average which in all fairness is pretty much the same throughout Thailand in cheap hotels and is not a deal breaker. One major problem was that we woken up early on the first morning by the smell of cigarette smoke which had come through the air-conditioning as the ceilings spaces were poorly blocked of from the other rooms where the services came through. The smoke was not the fault of the hotel, as It was a ignorant @#$% guest that was smoking in the room next to ours (you know who you are), however construction should be looked at by the hotel. The hotel did come to our room to light an scented oil burner. The bed was hard and the pillows were too thick and if it wasn't for the fact that I had taken my own pillows we would have woken up with saw necks. The room maids were fine and worked hard to clean the rooms. Cleaning times varied. They say that Wifi was not available in the rooms but if you got onto the balcony you will pick up a signal, just ask reception for the code.

Breakfast
Breakfast was included for the free nights and was ok but there was not much to choose from, especially for a vegetarian, as everything had meat in it. Most of it looked like it was from the dinner the night before. This is normal practice for hotels. During peak season, I think it would be difficult to get a table as one morning they had to set up make shift tables in the pool area. This was in off peak season. Yes there are native wasps on the jam get over it, its the tropics and outside.

Pool area.
Pool area was quite small and again in peak season it would struggle to accommodate. It looks great at night but closes too early. Towels. The staff seem to be very protective of the pool towels? that is if there are any clean ones available. They constantly monitor you to make sure you sign out for the towels and insist that you leave the towels in the pool area and not take them away. This really needs to be looked at as it felt like they were treating us all like thieves and besides that, walking back to your room to get changed without a towel is very inconvenient. Very strange practice especially if I am signing it out. Yes there is an open drain next to the pool area. It did not smell that bad and it is not sewerage as some state. We only smelt it on 2 occasions. Singers at happy hour were musically challenged and sung the same songs every day. The hotel should look at getting some alternating talent. Happy hour was from 5 to 6 which is too late maybe they should have it twice a day like some other resorts or even better for 2 hours.

Gym
The gym was on the 4th floor in the lobby? but was really just a home gym (1piece of equipment) Maybe they have so they can call themselves a resort, which it really isn't.

Weird
on our floor (5th) they sorted out the room linen in the middle of the lobby? very strange? this sort of thing should be done out of site.

Conclusion
Overall the hotel was great for the money and although my review points out a few negatives I would definitely stay there again and would recommend to people on a budget as it is great value for the money. It always amazes me that people complain about things that people have already stated on here as they obviously use Trip Advisor and should have been expecting it.

To the Staff thank you for a great stay.

PS the staff speak fine English for their second or third language and people should just stop winging about it. IT IS THAILAND. If you don't like it learn their language or don't go!

Room Tip: Request room number 503, 603 or 703. They are 1.5m wider than the normal deluxe room and as they are...

This is a relatively new hotel still undergoing some building but the service is excellent, the room clean and very useable, ours had a view of the pool and some actually had balconies straight into the pool.
Breakfast buffett excellent and had all tastes catered for. At about $85 AUD a night not the cheapest but it was really peaceful and well located away from the sleazy aspects of Patong, Within easy 5 min walk to beach and close to Jungceylon and market..All the staff were wonderful. Free wifi despite what the sites say, and free computer use in lobby area for those without laptops. Funny things like a window that opens in the double shower with oyster room blue lighting, so you can perform for your partner while you shower they can watch lol...strange but amusing..small room, outside balcony with seating, no smoking which was great, great pool..very family friendly. would stay there again

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms have direct access to swimming pool off the balcony..
