We were a little nervous regarding the location of this hotel...it runs adjacent to "Bangala" road, however it could be a hundred miles away, its quiet in fact serene .....and a blessing to come back to after the bustling madness that is just a few hudred yards away ......do ask the Manager to show you the "rear entrance".....it cuts out Bangala and takes you straight down to the beach area.....mind you we never found it after 11pm ......rather annoyingly the "free wi-fi keeps cutting out ....that said its a pleasant hotel , good service and comfortable

We stayed for 7 nights at R Mar. Great location, 5 min walk to beach, easy walking to Junceylong Shopping Centre. A 1 minute walk to 2 great restuarants. The free breakfast was fantastic & staff very friendly. We chose free mini bar over Wi Fi. King side bed and a very good mattress. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel after reading all the good reviews. We chose free wifi over the mini bar. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. One minor fault though, as they placed the two beds together with a king sized mattress, the bed base was protruding and hence I got bruised as I had accidentally knocked on the corner of the bed. As mentioned by other reviewers, the bathroom floor got flooded after a shower. But that does not really bother us as we had on slippers. There's a shelf for toiletries and towels and I like the simple design of the wash basin which is deep enough. There is also a balcony which provides a good view.
Breakfast is served at 6.30am There is an egg station where you can have scrambled egg or omelette. On the second day we were there, there were spaghetti with tomato sauce and baked potato, however, we did not have time to enjoy the nice breakfast as our tour pick up was at 6.45am. It would be good if breakfast can be served earlier, say at 6:00am as most tour pick up were rather early and we have an early flight to catch the next day.
Just outside the hotel, there are two Thai and western food restaurants. Both my husband and myself are vegetarians and the restaurant have no problem preparing for our special dietary requirement. My daughter loved the western food too. There is also a massage and spa parlour where we had our massage and body scrub at a reasonable price.
There are lots of stalls and shops along the main street. It is also within walking distance to Patong beach, Jungceylon Shopping Center and Bangla road.

This is a great place to stay and we will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Stayed here for 9 nights, with 19 friends, it was a great location, pool bar man a bit slow. Patong Corner outside the hotel has great food and excellent cocktails. It was one of our friends wedding anniversays and asked them to do up the room and they did made it like a honeymoon room just beautiful. Room was always clean, only downside as everyone keeps saying is the shower leaks, but really how long are you in the bathroom for. Be careful if you drink in the pool bars on the way to the beach, one of our freinds had her camera stolen by a ladyboy on our 2nd last night. Money exchange and laundry just outside of hotel. Great hotel, Great location.

I enjoyed my 10 day stay at R Mar Resort and Spa. It was walking distance to Junceylon Shopping Centre and the main road. However, it was quiet at night which was good if you wanted to sleep. There was a great little massage place just in front of the complex. I visited it many times and was very happy with the service I received. I found the spa at the resort a bit too pricey in comparison to other places. I loved the staff at the hotel, they were always very kind and willing to help. Swimming pool was lovely too!! Would definitely return.

Well worth the stay. The price compared to the resorts on the beach is unbeatable. The walk to the beach and Bangladesh road is nominal. Within 5 minutes you are in the middle of the muck. The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful and the breakfast was great. We even booked our excursions through the hotel person in the lobby. The wifi was strong, which was important for the work I had to keep up with.

The pool was quite and refreshing.
