Great mid sized property in fantastic location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Apr 2022via mobile
This was a walk in booking and therefore I secured a fairly reasonable rate. This is a stunning property that has been beautifully designed and laid out with fantastic attention to detail. As with Covid times, all you could do was walk around and admire it all, as nothing was open and operating (except for the pool). I didn’t use this but it was a lovely infinity pool overlooking the river. This property is also in a great location in town and right on the river. I did struggle with communication. No staff spoke any speck of English and didn’t understand my translator, so the boss lady had to be called to intervene each time. The room was spacious and the bathroom was large with a great shower, however the lighting was a bit grim and the only bedroom window that offered privacy faced a brick wall. Another odd thing was there were no amenities in the bathroom and housekeeping replenished your water, tea, coffee & towels only. I was a little surprised they didn’t make the bed, but no big deal. Cable TV was useless but other than all that I believe this properly would have been busy and super popular pre Covid times!

This guesthouse is very nice. The staff are quite friendly, the gardens are pretty, the room is quite spacious with a comfy bed and there’s plenty of storage space. The pool is small but refreshing with a lovely view over the river. Breakfast is simple but tasty. Location is good; on the main strip with bars, restaurants and massage shops etc, a 20 min walk to the bridge.

Good location in a central riverside area with easy access to Lawn Cemetery, Museum and to Historic Old Town street. Loved the indoor garden that our guest room and bathroom looked out onto - a great aspect to an otherwise 'standard' guest room. All room facilities did work and the shower was great.

WIFI exceptionally poor as soon as you move away from the Reception area. Breakfast needs big improvement. The free toast and very average quality coffee and tea are not worth it. Can get a reasonable quality breakfast a few doors down the road for 70 to 100 baht.

The guesthouse has been upgraded since last year. The ambience is great with a fantastic river view. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Nice to see coffee and tea making facilities. Service was good - having a little bit of Thai helps. Breakfast includes drinks and toast, and now you can order eggs, bacon and pancakes for a reasonable price. We were able to arrange transport to attend the dawn Anzac Memorial Service at Hellfire Pass, at the front desk. Great value for money.

Location is great. Rooms are clean, and cool. The bed is on a raised platform so this makes the mattress a bit hard. Lovely indoor garden, and large shower. Lighting is very poor - difficult to put make up on! The power plugs were also sparse. The outdoor area looking over the River Kwai is lovely with a small infinity type pool. Breakfast is coffee, tea and toast. We visited some of the many restaurants serving breakfast close by. Reasonable value for money.
