Good if you have own transport

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 June 2018
We were on a tour and this was the hotel we stayed at. Unfortunately although we went to Bridge over River Kwai in morning we were not there for long. We had intended to return ourselves after dropped off in hotel but only transportation available were push bikes and our guide suggested we didn't venture back out. I guess in case we got lost or had trouble on bikes, as it was approx 8 min drive by car. This was hugely disappointing for me. The hotel itself however was clean and staff friendly. Wifi was available in rooms. Location is out in the 'jungle' so at night lots of mosquitos to contend with.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking pool, otherwise looking out over bush areas

The location is a bit away (5 minutes by car) from the famous Bridge over River Kwai This for good (very quiet) and bad (need a car or taxi to get to the tourist places).
The actual hotel is located in a nice and green location. The room are good but not luxury and located close to the restaurant and the pool.
The staff are very helpful and service minded even if the language skill in English are somewhat low.
The pool area is nice and you can get drinks and food by the pool.

Review based 1 night stay

Like :
(1) Room is big and spacious. Our room face the lotus pond. Feels good
(2) Beautiful surrounding. The resort has beautiful amd huge landscape of trees, grass and sculptures. I admire the effort to maintain the garden.
(3) Breakfast. Decent choice of breakfast set. I had the rice porridge . Is good enough for me
(4) Room is clean. Bed is a bit hard but is comfortable enough

Dislike
(1) Is old.... the furniture and toilets.

Is a reasonable priced hotel. Quiet. Good enough for a night stay and a walk around the garden. But I personally prefer modern and newer hotel.

'Ultraman' greets you as you enter the resort. There's also 'Spiderman' hanging on a tree trunk near the restaurant LOL. The hotel is rather old, furnishing looks like it has been around since the 90's. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation and that makes it a little overpriced. The front of our chalets were flooded when it rained, we couldn't get out as we were not prepared to have our feet wet. That made our stay a little unpleasant. Huge green compound right to the river side, great views for photography and we saw hotel staff conducting yoga session for children. All in all, decent and clean. Don't think we will come back here, there are other better hotels nearby.

The pung-wan is very old and has never been renovated. Unfortunately since the hotel is in desperate need for it. On the plus side: the room was clean and the outside area is quite nice.
The breakfast was alright but nothing special.

The location is superb...and the pool is big and well kept...the restaurant is a bit expensive but decent...but the very average rooms do not justify the high room rates...in room wifi was also useless (lobby was a little better)...staff are not proficient in English to deal with foreign guests, so be prepared for every interaction to take a bit longer despite them being totally overstaffed...a passport was taken from one of our rooms after cleaning, which pretty much negated anything positive at this place...
