I booked this hotel via a well known Internet booking site. Upon arrival, all was in order and we were greeted by pleasant and accommodationg staff.
The rooms were of reasonable size and were clean and well decorated.
Despite the name of the hotel, it is not at the beach but a short walk from it. It is, however, well located with plenty of restaurants and bars within a few minutes' walk. We ate out every evening, so I cannot comment on the hotel restaurant - however the buffet style breakfast was fine.
Internet vouchers are available and the WiFi was of reasonable speed. Unlike many of these hotel internet deals, the voucher could be used for a short while at a time and, providing you remember to log out after your session, the remaining time could be used later.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay at the City Beach and will certianly stay there again upon return to Hua Hin.

Booked 2 days in advance via an internet booking site. Room confirmed, funds deducted from my account. When I arrived at the hotel with the voucher they accused me of faking the e mail as they had no rooms! Rudest front desk staff I have even met. Called the website, they send the confirmation from the hotel detailing they had accepted the booking, this took over an hour of international calls, costing more than the room. After this the staff were not even apologetic and even offered to honor my booking by letting me sleep in my car in the car park, or by the pool. I would still be charged. I have never been so amazed. They then sent me to another hotel within 10 minutes driving, way out of the area I needed to be, and even they would not honor the booking and I would have had to pay in full and charge my booking website the refund. Please if staying at this hotel, and have booked within 2 days, call ahead to check if they will let you stay!

Location excellent. After that it goes down hill! A tired hotel which need a lot of TLC and £££/$$$ spent. Staff training needed. We had one breakfast there, the rest of the week we ate out at our expense! Had to chase the room staff for clean sheets! I don't know how they survive as there is plenty of competition.
