What a great location and hotel. We have just come back from meeting our daughter and granddaughters here as they live in Brisbane and we live in England.Could not fault anything here. Our Daughter stopped in the Aqua wing and we stopped in The Lagoon. Our granddaughters 8 and 6 loved the water park and Nana and Grandad went on the slides too.The facilities are exceptional and all the staff are willing to help with any queries. The main street is full of bars and restaurants -our favourite bar was Happy Snapper and Mojo our favourite restaraunt. We didn't have a bad meal anywhere.Hotel breakfasts set us up for the day and loved happy hour at The Mango Bar.We also really appreciated having our room available till 4 as we could relax near the beach before reluctantly getting ready to leave. We would definitely return to this outstanding hotel.Thank you for the memories.

We have just returned from spending 10 fabulous nights at The Sands! We stayed in a swim up room on the lagoon side which was a highlight of our trip. We were two families with 17 year old girls and couldn’t fault it, there is something for each age group. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern and we spent many hours on our patio overlooking the pool. It was very quiet and despite it being a very large resort it never felt crowded. Staff were all friendly and attentive. We ate at each of the three restaurants and found them to be reasonably priced, there is a differently themed buffet each night @$25 AUD per person.
It is only 10 minute walk into the Main Street or catch a tuk took from the reception. We also discovered Little Italy which serves wonderful Italian food, not what we expected in Thailand.
The night markets are also a must.

We’ve just spent 8 nights here with our two teenagers. We had 2 poolside suites ( pineapple bar side) and the rooms were amazing. Even though the family pool/ water slides were near us we couldn’t hear a thing. The resort is so expansive that it never feels crowded. Spoilt for choice with the variety of pools, bars, restaurants and a games room with table tennis, pool, reading area and computers. Excellent gym and lots of activities ie beach volleyball, pool volleyball, beach soccer and polo. Thai boxing, yoga, aqua aerobics, cooking classes, fruit carving ...... There’s also a tennis court, pétanque and a large outdoor chess set. Impossible to get bored here. The food was amazing and lots of drink deals/ happy hours for both kids and adults. The staff were fantastic- so incredibly helpful particularly when we had an issue with a tour we went on.
We ate at the resort and locally. The buffet breakfast was enough to last us until dinner!
The manager Evelyn is an absolute gem. From the time we arrived and were given cool towels and a flower juice to our last day when we were able to have one suite as a late checkout and then they surprised our son with a cake for his birthday- it was wonderful and very professional service.
They will organise tours and taxis for you. We were recommended a couple of local restaurants and they organised our taxis and made the bookings.
We found the resort to be pristine and extremely well maintained.
None of us wanted to leave- will definitely be back!

We got a lovely upgrade to the ocean wing from Evelyn and Kim to this amazing resort. When we walked into the room there was a lovely elephant towel with flowers
on the beds so cute. The room was massive a drop down lounge area and just outside
the door two lounges which look out to the beautiful gardens and one of there many pools. They even have a adults only on. A mini fridge and you get 2 bottle of free water, coffe, tea and creamers everyday.
A nice big desk for your laptop and two wardrobes one with a mini safe, ironing board and a iron. Leave your hair dryer at home because that's provided too.
A big bathroom that has a very large bath separate shower and toilet.
The girls cleaning the rooms are so pleasant, you can save water by not getting bed changed every day.
Breakfast was vast so many things to pick from, egg station, toaster and a must for me maralade jam. Two coffee machines or teabags with tea pots for tea drinkers.
They offered table service for tea or coffee also. Lots and lots of fresh fruit. We sat in adult section which is not a big as the other section for families. They even have child proff dishes and cups for kids.
We went to there Talay Restaurant for lunch most of the meals were ok my favourite was the smoked salmon or the steak dish. Fish and chips was not good fish had no taste.
We were lucky as returning guests we were invited to cocktail party lots of petite fours
and tasty nibbles with music then. Some of the staff dressed up and sang lovely
songs. What a great night.
This is the first time at The Sands Resort as we were upgraded from The Leaf on Sands. Where they were doing repairs to the big pool at The Leaf on Sands Resort.
For family the kids would love the kids pool it's massive with lots of slides.
Each pool and the beach had plenty of lounges with umbrellas.
Plenty of happy hour bars around the resort. Sunset at the beach one was great watching the sun go down.
Thanks again to all the pleasant staff.

Room tip: Ground floor rooms or the blocks with lifts.

We are still here and overall our experience has been a good one and most areas have been segregated well. However we have been disappointed that our room should be a couples only area and not mixed with children who have floating beds accessing our area of privacy. This is not fair as we booked this holiday to have quite time away. Children have a wonderful fun area at this hotel and there is also many rooms with swim up pools for them to enjoy. Reservations should manage this better and not just allocate rooms without thought. Hope this feedback helps so Sands can continue to improve as apart from this issue the hotel is very good. We are still here and enjoying our stay

Dear Diamond07,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience about The Sands Khao Lak to other travelers.

We are happy to read that you are having such a great time with us but also sad to noted that the pool situation is not satisfying. We are improving our rooms and therefore it was indispensable to allow few families with kid's in those rooms. Please note that it is not an "adults only" area but we are doing our best to keep this zone as quiet as possible. We deeply hope that you still can enjoy your stay!

Thank you for choosing The Sands Khao Lak for your vacation and hope to see you around.

Best wishes,
