Checked out this place on Lonely Planet's recommendation. A cozy pub on the bustling strip of Negombo but doesn't give you such a welcome especially with the servers standing at the entrance huddled up like bouncers. Once inside, it is quite a small place with a few benches and tables, decor is quite rustic. Drinks are a tad expensive when you compare to the other bars in the area (I only had the local arrack which I must say didn't taste to bad). I ordered the hot battered cuttlefish which was quite tasty but at Rs. 800, I wouldn't call it value for money.
All in all 4 x 50ml arrack, 1 bottle of sprite and the cuttlefish set me back Rs.1950. A good experience overall but does not match the hype that surrounds it especially the service.
