Fort Bazaar has all the ingredients of a first class boutique hotel. Friendly, personal and professional staff, good food in relaxing environment, comfortable, stylish yet practical rooms. The courtyard is delightful, day and evening.
It will be good when they get a liquor license, the bar will then be an ideal location for a predinner drink.
We took advantage of the complimentary tuk tuk service to travel the 10 minutes to Jetwing Lighthouse to spend the midday heat poolside on the lawn overlooking the sea. The tuk tuk driver we had each of the two days we were staying was delightful and even came over to say goodbye when we were leaving.
The hotel is ideally located within the fort to allow for doing a self guided walking tour of the ramparts and points of interest. We did that in three stages in the cooler early morning and late afternoon, and also enjoyed wandering down the narrow streets with their various architectures.
A nice touch was the provision of a plate of yummy Easter confectionery when we arrived on Easter Sunday.More
