We came back here for the second time, to this nicely done boutique hotel, with great staff. Its build in an old printers and they have kept the old caracter well. Floors are a bit thin therefore but nothing to really worrie about. We occupied five rooms and everyone was satisfied. The location is very nice in the middle of the fort, and one day we also went to their hotel frangipani of the same owner and with similar friendly staff, for a nice day on the lovely beach near tapa, 20 minutes outside galle.

Room Tip: We loved the head masters room and the art room as I believe they were called

The Fort Printers was one of the best hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka - the staff were amazing and could not have been more welcoming - my four young children loved them all. The location doesn't get any better and the food was the best we had during our 3 week holiday. I researched all of the hotels inside Galle Fort and then went to visit them during our stay - we definitely chose the best place to stay in and I would rate The Fort Printers in my top 5 hotels in the world.

Room Tip: The Prefect's room beside the swimming pool is lovely - you can literally walk out of your room and step into the pool!

My husband and I stayed for a few days over Christmas and cannot rate the place highly enough. The rooms are fantastic and very large, only slight problem is the lack of hot water. There is a lovely courtyard restaurant which served the best lobster ihave ever eaten. Last but no least the staff were fantastic, the best we experienced in Sri Lanka!

The Fort Printers is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Galle Town. It has five rooms - all large and spacious, with an interesting concept for the bath area. There is a separate shower area and toilet cubicle behind the bed. However, both the shower room and the toilet area do not have ceilings (while they do have doors), which means everything can be heard. That could be awkward for many people. That aside, the air-con was lovely, there is the option of a ceiling fan, the bed and pillows are comfortable, and they light a scented burner every night when they perform the turn-down service - a nice touch. You can hear the wood floor creak every time you walk, which may bother some people, but it was fine for us.

We had the best service in our experience in the country at Fort Printers - the manager and staff rarely decline any request, they always have smiles, and speak in a gentle manner. There are a few lounge areas in the hotel lobby/dining, where one can relax. It almost has the feel of being in your own large home. There is a very samll pool where one could freshen up after a hot day, but there is not much space for anything else.

In my opinion, the food was the best part. I have to honestly say everything we had on the menu was fantastic! Lobster curry, hummus, seared tuna, passionfruit pavlova, etc. We tried about 3/4 of the entire menu during our stay among the four of us. We were truly sad to move on from the hotel. Another benefit is guests can use the facilities of their sister hotel for free - Frangipani Tree in Thalpe, a short ride away. This property is on the beach and has a beautiful lap pool.

I would definitely return to the hotel again. We were all truly sad to leave. Thank you to everyone who makes Fort Printers a beautiful experience!

Room Tip: We stayed in the standard rooms and these were big enough.
