It was our first trip to Galle and to a large extent an accident... but what a trip! Firstly the town is simply magnificent and strangely reminded us of Mykonos - but you have to experience both to see why we said it.. my wife is Greek....
After a tour around and I must admit to seeing many restaurants that were enticing beyond belief - but we had to visit Amangalla and we were so pleased we did..
I had a fish “stew” that was as tasty as the best bisque that France could muster with a California Chardonnay that was perfect. My wife’s local Sri Lankan curry was perfect..
This was a great time of year to visit and I’m sure a packed town in January to March would be a bit like July to September in Mykonos! But now you know where to go if you are looking for somewhere special in September with Australian school holidays before you - don’t just go to Noosa or Bali again!!!More
