Arrived after wandering around the historical area. We had been told by locals that it was a tourist restaurant and expensive, but when we arrived it seemed to have many local families there for dinner. Ambience is great, providing you're happy sitting on the floor, and we really enjoyed the food. It is more expensive than the Night Market, but it's a much nicer place to eat. It was busy, so there wasn't much interaction with the staff - they brought drinks and food promptly and then left us be, which we were happy with.

I fell in love with the Pajeon. A green onion pancake with spices and chilis. Ask for some lettuce to wrap it in for an added treat. My family loved the bulgogi too . We sat in the courtyard on the floor seats and felt like locals. A must!

This restaurant was next door to our guest house, just in front of one of the main "tumuli" tumb park. A simple but nice traditional house, with a yard and th possibility of eating both in indoor rooms and under a wooden canopy ouside in a sort of couryard. Sating is corean style, barefoot. Food is excellent and the cheapest we found in Corea for a "regular" restaurant. Certainly a great value for money. W came back two nights in a row. On the frst we had the full sampling menu, about 8 Euros per person! The second night we had typical pancaks with leaks and octopus. Only issue was that nobody speak a decent enough english to explain the food and the drinks. Yu can choose based on photos, but we would hav liked to know more and in case we would have experimented more.

At Dosol Maul, you can enjoy Korean comfort food in traditional Korean commoner's house setting. The food was not memorable to me although the service was prompt and cordial. They have set menu. We received 3 different types of Korean soups prepared in local way of cooking. The Kimchi soup had fishes which I am not accustomed to and was too fishy to my taste. The other side dishes were OK but unfortunatly nothing to write home about. I would go there for an experience rather than for food.

This is the worst place to eat, unless you want to be food poisoned. My friend and I ordered the diner set for two and as we sat there we wondered whether this was a tourist trap, because that is the only impression we had from it: the food was cold, far from being tasty considering the amazing food you can have in Korea in any restaurant, and looked messy. There were indeed many tourists and the staff were very unfriendly. We left unimpressed, but worst was yet to come. A couple of hours after leaving the place we started to feel very sick. I spent two days in bed, very sick without being able to eat anything, because of the food in that restaurant. It ruined all my plans in Gyeongju.
