“Interesting”

Pearl Farm de Praslin
Attraction details
Reviewed 24 August 2017

I bought a pair of earings for my wife there nine years ago, and went back there this summer to buy some earings to my 2 daughters in order to offer them when they will be 18.
Seychelles pearls are typical grey/gold which is quite rare and you can buy one pearl or jewels (earings, bracelet, pedants).
These pears are quite expensive but not that much regarding pearls prices in Europe, and considering their particular color (haven't seen a lot in Europe)

Basically they tell you how they grow these black pearls with a video. You won't see any pearl plant because there are at a place in the see. Although 50scr per Person is not much, it is not worth it.

This place is not a pearl farm and as a mater of fact they dont even have a live oyster. We just get robbed by paying 100 rp to watch a 5 minutes video about pearls and see the clams that they have in their pools.
The pearl shop is rediculous expensive and actually you can found pearl jewlery of higher quality with certifficates in the one third of the price at the Praslin or Mahe airports.
Dont loose your precious vacation time.....

One of our first stops, it was very educational. the young lady was extremely knowledgeable in explaining the process of farming pearls followed by a short video. They have hands on interaction with the local sea life and a showroom for beautiful black pearl jewelry.

An educational trip to the Black Pearl Farm can be very enlightening. A visit here showcases the process and business of pearl farming. One can also see the clam farm where beautiful clams are kept and grown. For those wanting to sample some of the seas finest gems, a jewelry store with the most exquisite products can be tantalizing to the eyes.
