If your are looking for a place to dine during shabat this is the place to go in Tiberias. The service and food is great. We ordered the Lake Platter which includes 4 mid size whole St. Peter's fish ( Tilapia)and a trout fish chopped and fried in a bed of tempura onion. The price is reasonable for the quality, presentation and taste. They have a wide variety of dishes and beverages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I've dined at Big Ben's on several occasions. I've ordered the fish (both St. Peter's and Denis; both were fresh and delicious), but this time we ordered simply: the large salads assortment, which is typical Arab-Israeli fare, with extra falafel, which Big Ben's makes especially well. The falafel is crisp, not soggy, and incredibly moist and almost green inside, filled with parsley and cilantro. Israeli pita is always fresh but Big Ben adds a little olive oil and toasts it for extra flavor. The salad assortment was abundant and absolutely delicious. It included two types of cabbage salads, carrot salad, eggplant, Turkish, felafel, hoummus, tahina...and a great assortment of beers. The Belgian ale (Leffe) was served icy cold on the hot night that we dined.
And Omar made sure to feed the cats who are ubiquitous throughout Israel, looking for food, poor creatures.

We were wondering around Tiberius at night the day before Passover so everything was closed. Omar invited us to eat at Big Ben and we are so glad we did! The atmosphere was great, we sat by the fountain and the server was attentive. I had the St. Peter fish and my husband had the chicken shwarma which were both excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly and we loved the hummus. We also had the chocolate cake which came with different flavors of ice cream...yum! We will be back again.

Well if ever we made an error of judgement it was with Big Ben. All the food we ordered was downright rank. Beware of onion rings, fries, shoarma (plain lamb fat and horribly smelling!!!), chicken livers and fish & chips. Only the schnitzel was edible.
And unfortunately the service was accordingly. So one advice for you: stay away if you know what's good for you.
