We visited Bahai Gardens on August 30, 2018. We took advantage of the English tour. The tour lasted about 45 minutes but was very informational regarding the Bahai’ faith and history. Of course the gardens were very picturesque. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to visit inside of the mausoleum. This was a great day trip. If you take the guided tour which is generally offered in English twice a day (check the schedule) you really do not need to pay a tour company to go to Haifa (unless you are visiting other places).
We traveled from the Tel Aviv. We took the Israel train to Bat Galim Haifa. From there we took bus 136 (about a 20 minute bus trip depending on the traffic). Just ask the driver to let you know when you arrive to the entrance of Haifa Gardens (sure he is asked this a lot). We got off of the bus, walked across the street, walked to the corner, crossed the street and we were at the site where the tour begins (3 minute walk). After the tour, exit the gardens (there is only one exit), cross the street and you are right in front of the bus stop. Take bus 136 back to the train station. Very easy and much cheaper than a formal tour.
