Free tour, so worth taking a look at, but you can get a great view of the city, without going through the tour.

The gardens are beautifull the problem is that the main ones are open to to the public only on certain days. So even though the entrance is free, there is nothing much to see on the wrong days

As part of a guided tour, we visited the highest place on the mountain at Haifa, and were able to look down on the harbour and the Bahai Gardens, which are most wonderfully kept and all green. Apparently, this sight has no religious significance but is worth seeing.

These gardens are much smaller and less famous than those in Haifa. Yet they are much less crowded, zen-like. It is recommended to visit during the weekend (note the limited visiting hours) and enter the temple as well.

Even more than the more known Bahai gardens of Haifa, the Acre gardens are a wonderful place to visit. We were there on a Wednesday so no access to the inner gardens and shrine (only Sun-Mon I think), but even walking in the outer ones looking in is well worth the time - top aesthetics.
