“Best accommodation for our babymoon”
Reviewed 17 May 2012

Absolutely loved our stay at chedi club. I was 28 weeks pregnant on our first trip to bali and the staff here were wonderful - esp with them making me a range of drinks & juices during the free cocktail hour. We could easily be picked up in town and at one stage i sent my husband off with Pasek for the rice paddy walk as i just wasn't up to it with bloated ankles. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the pool villa looking out onto the ride paddys. Enjoyed doing yoga on all the mornings possible - they'll soon need a bigger yoga room. Had a manicure done and was very happy with it, although it was at least 3 - 4 times the price of what you could get in seminyak. Still the ladies there were so accommodating and fit me in within 15 mins of a phone call being placed. Only wish we'd stayed here for our whole trip to bali. Would suggest to anyone doing seminyak & ubud, do seminyak first, then ubud. Ubud is just so cruisey and this resort is truly how you want to spend your last few days / week in bali.

What a wonderful experience for my husband and I spending some alone time together at this exquisite resort with our own private pool and houseboy who tended to our every whim. Not to mention that when we arrived the Manager was on hand to greet us personally which we found to be excellent service. We stayed in Villa 1.

The Chedi Club is in Ubud on a private estate with manicured gardens and walking paths around the resort to enjoy. If you want to be pampered there is also a beauty salon and a masseuse but book early as they are busy.

The Restaurant is shaped like a jetty and is nestled out into the rice fields. It's wonderful to watch the fields being tended by workers as you have your breakfast first thing in morning. In the evenings they have musicians playing traditional Balinese music which is enjoyable whilst having dinner. It's only a 5 minute taxi ride into town to the main shopping area.

You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Try Villa 1 - Private pool and top location.

This resort is a former estate and the grounds are exquisite. Temples and architectural elements abound throughout the property. You can even have lunch or dinner and watch the farmers tend the working rice field on the grounds. It is truly a unique experience. First class Balinese luxury in very authentic surroundings. Not crowded at all and very peaceful and secluded. Close to all that the town of Ubud has to offer. Highly recommend

The Chedi Club was an amazing holiday for both my husband and I. It is an experience which cannot be captured by words. To truely appreciate the reviews which this Hotel has been given you need to experience the service and surroundings of this magical place for yourself. Trust me - you will not be disappointed. From all staff knowing our name to the big smiles which greeted us wherever we went (genuine smiles!) the list is endless to why this place is so very special. My only issue now is that nowhere seems to match up.... Oh well a great excuse to return! Enjoy Paradise....

We stayed at The Chedi for our honeymoon (before transferring to the Alila Villas Uluwatu near the beach for the other half--definitely recommend doing both). Not one negative thing to say about this place. The property is gorgeous. We flew all the way from the U.S. and wanted to stay in a place that made us feel like we were in Bali. This was definitely it. The breakfast was the best we have EVER had and they don't care how much you order. Fresh juices at breakfast were amazing. They were very accomodating to my husband's nut allergy as well. Pool villas are a must. Ours opened up to a rice field and it felt like we were the only ones in the world there. So beautiful and serene. The restaurant over looks the rice fields as well and both my husband and I both said that it was the most relaxing place we have ever been. Every 5th day is a religious day and you can hear the music from the temple which just adds to the whole experience. We did yoga, which was also great, and the doors open up to the rice fields there as well - so amazing! We also got spa treatments which has the same kind of setup as the yoga room where it opens up to the rice fields -- ultimate relaxation. The massage beds are very comfy too! They also have where you can buy a private dinner on a platform in the middle of the rice paddies and they set it up for you with candles and rose petals. Very romantic and you feel like you are the only ones there. Service is great. Cocktail hour is a must! I asked for drinks without sugar and they had no problem making them. We arrived at 1 am and were still greeted with delicious fried bananas and a lemon ginger honey tea that is to die for. If I had to change one thing I would say the beds/pillows could be a bit more comfy and plush--they weren't too bad but could be improved. Our waiter for breakfast was extremely nice. Our butler Japa was great as well. We also loved that there are only 20 villas so most of the time you fell like you are the only ones there. The GM Simon goes out of his way to greet the guests and make sure your stay is perfect. Little touches like these make this hotel the best in Bali, maybe in the world. We will be returning back, despite the 30 hour travel time--so worth it. Thank you to Simon and the whole staff.

Room Tip: Pool villa is a MUST
