“Unique house in stunning location”
Reviewed 18 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here for close to 3 weeks in total. The house is lovely, set among stunning rice fields offering stunning views at any time of the day (and night when the fire flies come out). Our children loved staying here and did not want to leave again due to the location, wonderful staff and many activities at the villa and nearby. They loved the fish, turtle and baby ducks and spent hours exploring the place outside. Sonu organised some great activities for us including a bike ride through the rice fields and home cooked meals. The breakfast was also amazing. Made and Ketut who took care of the house and the garden were amazing and taught us a lot about gardening and local traditions/culture. It was an immense pleasure to stay there and we definitely hope to return there. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special.

“Unique pearl of the rice fields. ”
Reviewed 11 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

An absolutely charming place in the quiet rice fields of Ubud. Sonu and the staff couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. The buildings are beautiful as well as the gardens and pool, a great rest bite from the hustle of Ubud centre.
We know where we are staying the next time we visit Ubud.
Highly recommended.

“Absolutely beautiful! ”
Reviewed 4 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Absolutely beautiful joglos in lovely surroundings. The Treehouse Joglo was great for my extended family and there were beautiful and artistic touches everywhere, from the fish ponds and trailing vines to the outdoor stone bath and rustic furniture.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay a pleasure.
Yoga on the rooftop each morning was fantastic and the cooking class was interesting, fun and delicious.
It is located a 20 minute walk or 5 minute motorbike ride along The Rice Paddy Walk with no car access and is surrounded by rice paddies and a jungle filled ravine.

“Wonderful stay in a sea of green”
Reviewed 5 June 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed at the Rice Joglo for 6 nights and when we first arrived I thought it would be too rustic for my mum (we took my parents for their 70ths and our two children 13 and 9) as it is a bit out of the way, reached on the back of a motor bike and no air conditioning . . . but I think she would agree with me that the Joglos are amazing. The location is a good 20 minute walk to the main street of Ubud or a short motorbike ride which my kids loved! My Dad loved being able to walk along the paths and wander thru the rice fields, my mum loved the juices from Sari Organik (just up the path) and Cantika Spa and we all loved Made, Ketut, and Wayan. Wayan's brekkie is delicious, Ketut's smile infectious and Made's tea refreshing, especially when sipped on the front porch. We also fell in love with Kartika, her family and her cooking. Make sure you spend a couple of meals with her - she is a very special person. Don't forget to feed the fish, pat the cat and sit back and relax.
And the view from our upstairs bedroom? Priceless and memorable . . . Hope to return one day. The Villegas Family says hello and thank you❤️

“Heavenly Home Away From Home”

Along with my husband and a group of friends I recently stayed at this amazing property for a week. We traveled to Ubud to celebrate the birthday of a friend and our decision to stay at the Rice Jogolo was a brilliant one.

The entire experience was first class. The team of Sonu and Wayan took care of us all, warmly welcoming us and being of service any chance they got. They were extremely helpful and assisted us to organise an amazing cooking lesson and traditional meal to celebrate my friends birthday.

The Treehouse Jogolo was an amazing place to stay. There was plenty of room for the 3 couples and one single and the space was open and welcoming but do be aware that the rooms were not separate. The spaces were private, but not exclusive, so some comfort with your fellow travelers is needed.

The walk into the property via the rice fields was about 20 minutes but beautiful and a great way to stretch your legs! As an alternative it was easy to jump on the back of a scooter and get a ride into or out of the property.

I have stayed in plenty of places in Ubud and this one had a magic that is hard to compare. The tranquility of it's location was ideal. Peaceful, magnetic and a genuine escape was the perfect tonic we all needed. The pool was a welcome relief from the balmy days and nights and the seclusion was a wonderful experience.

I would definitely consider staying here again.
