This is an old set of buildings set in lush gardens around a fab swimming pool. The rooms are beautifully appointed with antiques, large beds, but with a great modern bathroom (I stayed in a deluxe room). All have terraces or balconies. It is down a little lane that you have to walk to (no cars) but that means that it's very close to the action but also quiet and calm. The lane is off Monkey Forest Road, it's about 5-6 mins from the Palace, National Gallery etc and about 10-15 mins from the Monkey Sanctuary end of the road. Great locale - lots of wonderful restaurants and cafes, wide range of shops - a far better location than the busier part of Ubud for me. Close enough to the rice fields to stroll there on a daily basis. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before, they were a bit resistant to me saying I didn't know what I wanted to eat the night before but eventually agreed I could choose in the morning. You can elect to have breakfast on your balcony or by the pool, both lovely. Staff friendly and very helpful. A definitely recommendation from me and I would stay there on a return visit.
