This is an old set of buildings set in lush gardens around a fab swimming pool. The rooms are beautifully appointed with antiques, large beds, but with a great modern bathroom (I stayed in a deluxe room). All have terraces or balconies. It is down a little lane that you have to walk to (no cars) but that means that it's very close to the action but also quiet and calm. The lane is off Monkey Forest Road, it's about 5-6 mins from the Palace, National Gallery etc and about 10-15 mins from the Monkey Sanctuary end of the road. Great locale - lots of wonderful restaurants and cafes, wide range of shops - a far better location than the busier part of Ubud for me. Close enough to the rice fields to stroll there on a daily basis. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before, they were a bit resistant to me saying I didn't know what I wanted to eat the night before but eventually agreed I could choose in the morning. You can elect to have breakfast on your balcony or by the pool, both lovely. Staff friendly and very helpful. A definitely recommendation from me and I would stay there on a return visit.

I stayed here 10 years ago and was not disappointed to be here once again. The is right off the soccer field in Ubud - easy to walk everywhere you'd want to go. The hotel is clean, authentic, small enough to be a boutique hotel, complete with swimming pool and breakfast on your verandah every morning. Okawai herself is always available and checking on things. she is happy to sit by the pool and talk to you about your activities and happy to assist with a guide or a masseuse.Amazingly she remembered us from ten years ago.

Room Tip: all rooms have AC now. The deluxe rooms have more space, so if you need a desk or you might want to...

The title says it all.
Good value, large comfortable rooms with big verandahs. No nonsense but what they do, they do well, friendly helpful staff, owner is actively involved and a delight to meet. Central. Best breakfast pancakes we had in 2 weeks in Bali.

Pictures on the net are often deceiving and I was a bit skeptical when we booked the place. But okawati delivers everything it promises and More. We received a warm welcome even at 11 pm in the night. Morning we had simple but yummy breakfast delivered to our rooms. We had them in the balcony overlooking a lovely pool surrounded by so much greenery and birds chirping away. The rooms were clean and well Maintained. The place is right in middle of ubud but manages to Maintain serenity and quiet. It was really lovely to have okawati herself walking around giving a warm broad smile.... Will definitely visit again

not that big of a fan of Ubud, but you gotta go there. Okawati is really charming (deluxe room) and so central to everything. Its 5 minute walk to the dancing and one of the best places to eat. Clean rooms, nice breakfast, and great massages! Also recommend the tour operator near Okawati. They are off the main street on your way to Okawati, last ones as you walk past the clothing vendors and used book store. Nice couple. Anyhow thumbs up for okawati!

Room Tip: deluxe AC room
