We booked a 2 bedroom pool
Villa in the jungle- it was superb and completely private! The staff were wonderful- very kind and attentive! Food was excellent! Loved the sunrise yoga! The property was beautiful- very peaceful, serene and quiet.

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of our Bali trip. We had arrived from staying at the Ulaman which was incredible and there was a stark difference in service at Kamandalu from the moment we arrived.
The place seems dated, the decor could do with updating throughout. The rooms are very spacious but just didn’t seem fresh.
The restaurants didn’t look great. We had lunch by the main pool whilst waiting for our room to be ready and it was just basic and unappealing.
Breakfast was ok but only egg dishes are a la carte, the rest is buffet.
We had the floating breakfast one day and arrived at the awana pool to find no staff there and a half eaten breakfast tray floating around the pool! A staff member eventually arrived but couldn’t understand us when we said we were there for breakfast! When the breakfast eventually did arrive it was a nice experience although quite hard to eat in the pool if you are short as the water is fairly deep.
Prior to going to the hotel I had contacted them to book a massage and the lunch on the boat. I told them that I was vegetarian and needed a veggie lunch. They tried to charge me extra for that!! Surely a dietary requirement should not be more expensive! Especially when veggies are cheaper than meat!
They also gave me a ‘special price’ for the message which was the same price as online so nothing special at all. The massage at forest spa was the best part of our stay and the only 5* experience at Kamandalu.
There is a shuttle bus to ubud town. We used this and waited for the return bus only for a ride family to push in front and get in the bus ahead of us meaning that we couldn’t get on. The driver didn’t say anything to them and drove them back. We had to wait 30mins for a taxi! The hotel did cover the cost of the taxi but it was an inconvenience.
We were there for our anniversary and nothing was said about it by the hotel.
I would not recommend Kamandalu and would stay elsewhere but I would go to forest spa for a massage

This place is a piece of heaven, wonderful facilities, amazing views, the cleanliness of the rooms is unmatched, the most friendliest staff you can ever encounter who always greet you with a smile. We had a gr8 experience during our honeymoon hope to visit soon again.

The best thing of this hotel is the landscape. Check in was bit slow. They offered welcome drink with a wet wipe! For a five star hotel a cold towel should be provided. The lobby was hot…No fans. Room was spacious and nicely designed. The bed is nice but the floor is broken. The sliding window doesn’t close well and there is a space where insects and lizards can come inside. The bathroom is big but in need of immediate renovation. The outdoor shower is nice.
The property needed more care. So many places are abandoned and it’s hard to find the staff when you need help for direction. Most of the staff’s English is poor….Although they are kind and trying their best to help when you ask them but they look over tired. They look trainees not professional.

The main pool area is ok but the food took ages to arrive. The infinity pool was cold and the floating breakfast was generous.

The staff at the Indonesian restaurant were kind but need more training.

No daily programs or anything you expect from a 5 star hotel.

This hotel should be 3 star NOT 5. For the room price I paid I expected much much more from this hotel.

Sorry….I will find other place to stay in if I visit Ubud in the future.

The best experience was the massage at the
