I stayed here in May 2015 with my daughter. We were met at the airport by Kadek(housekeeper) and their driver. Arriving at night we weren't really sure where we were but upon waking the next day we were pleasantly surprised. It really felt so homely. Annie took us to the local market showing the best stalls to buy produce and giving tips about what was good to eat etc unfortunately Annie and Rod had to return to Australia so we had the house to ourselves - Kadek looked after the day-to-day running of the house and ensured we had a wonderful stay. Walking through the back roads we were instantly transported into "real Bali" - we are returning here again this year in October - can't wait :)
My boyfriend and I spent 10 days here and it was just perfect! It's only a short walk (10m-20m) from the main road but the villa is really quiet and VERY relaxing. Very clean Pool with a relaxing hammock pool side. Rooms were clean and comfortable with high powered fans and great air con.
The staff are amazing and very friendly, they clean your room, make you yummy breakfast (which was included), take your washing to get done, you can request them to get you pulsa (credit for your phone), organise taxis and Rusma can give you the best massage you will have during your stay in Bali (all very professionally done using a massage table).
The owners of the Villa (an older Australian couple) were amazingly helpful taking my boyfriend and I on back streets to teach us how to use the scooters that they organised for us. Also providing us with a personalised tour of the sukawati markets one morning where we picked up some great wood carvings and sarongs. They both used to work in the medical industry and helped both of us out with advice on an occasion when one of us got sick. Seriously the nicest staff/people you'll meet during your stay.
I will definitely recommend this place to others! 10/10
great time..wonderful stay for a Christmas season with our 2 adult sons-everything was perfect-pool was an oasis after a day in Ubud. The only wrinkle was the 7k into Ubud, traffic was terrible. Rusamati is wonderful, great Balinese breakfasts
When we arrived at Angel Villa, I immediately felt at peace in the beautiful garden. I was fortunate to stay in the Pool Suite, with a small porch, overlooking the pool. The furnishings were colourful and welcoming. Annie is passionate about the environment and a keen recycler. She is also very knowledgeable about the Balinese culture and is happy to share her understanding of its people. If you so desire, Annie will arrange visits to local ceremonies, organise lessons in traditional offerings, massage in your room (bliss), as well as recommend several warungs within easy walking distance.
The pool was the coolest I have experienced in Bali - a relief after a hot day's exploring.
Whilst Annie and Rod were away for a few days, Kadek and his wife looked after us beautifully and the activities they arranged for us were the highlight of our stay in Mas. We were very happy to be away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud and just soak up the serenity of the property. Once the renovations and guest kitchen are complete, this property will be even better!
This place is quite and secluded while still being close to the action. Annie and Rod are great hosts and have a lot of knowledge of the area. The property is beautiful and the pool is gorgeous. There are great restaurants with in walking distance or the kitchen facilities at the property are exceptional, It is rare to find an oven in a home in Bali. I would stay here again upon returning to Bali.
