“Fantastic close to facilities”
Reviewed 14 January 2017 for a stay in June 2016

The location was great, walking distance to massages and restaurants, Taxis/ drivers also close by. I had a wonderful relaxing holiday with three sisters and my partner. We where looked after very well by our breakfast cook Made Indra, who arranged both in-house massages and a driver, who was exceptional.

“Great villa and great location!”
Reviewed 6 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I stayed in Villa Helicona with my two sons (15 and 11) and my sister and her 15yr old son and the villa was everything I wanted and more. Very clean and set out very well for our situation. It is in a great location and a ten minute walk to the centre of Ubud. The road is a little crazy at times to walk but taxis are available everywhere anyway.
Pool was wonderful and the grounds are very well looked after. Indra made us breakfast every morning and made the beds. Villa was very quiet and well maintained and everything we needed for our ten day stay. Would be back in a heartbeat.
Only one downside and that was the tiles around the pool were incredibly slippery when wet so if you had younger kids who run when wet it could be really dangerous.

“Beautiful villa with everything you need.”

We stayed at Villa Heliconia over the Christmas New Year period and loved it. There is plenty of space for everybody to relax and the pool and garden were lovely.
Our houseboy Indra ,who cooked us breakfast every morning, is a delightful young man who was very helpful organizing outings for us.
The villa is very close to several warungs serving delicious, very cheap food. Ubud is a 15 minute walk away however the footpaths are either non existent or very rough. The traffic is very busy to try to cross the roads so we usually opted to get a cab. The drivers are located at the end of the street.

“Wonderful Helliconia”
Reviewed 11 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Staying at Villa Helliconia was a little bit of Paradise. The villa itself is delightful with airconditioned bedrooms, open shared living areas, and a private swimming pool. It even has a private laundry. A charming young man came in each morning to cook us a hot breakfast and make sure our fridge was equipped with lots of fruit, eggs and yoghurt. The owner was accessible and very helpful. The village of Ubud is a 15 minute walk away and the whole area is picturesque. The villa is very affordable, great value.

“peaceful Penestanan again...in a gorgeous villa”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We loved our stay in this 3 bedroom villa. About our fifth stay in Penestanan and third one of Steve's villas we have tried. Love the open layout in Heliconia, lovely gardens, bale to relax in and a huge pool. Bit cool temp for us in August to use but perfect layout to able to talk to family while relaxing by the pool, on the lounge or bale or cruising past the bedrooms. Indra looked after us very well, cooked lovely breakfast, and we appreciated his and Steve's help in picking up some gluten free bread for a family member. Great Service!
Loved the distance from the path...meaning no scooter noise. And especially loved waking early and going for a wander just metres down the path to see the early Bali stirrings in the ricefields, the ducks, the hazy smoky air..all before the heat hits too hard. Special memories of these walks exploring the local area and its varied residents. We will be back!
