As mentioned in the other reviews, the villa is a bit out of the way, but's it's exactly what we were looking for. The views, the privacy, the pool - all beautiful and relaxing. You feel like you're in the middle of the jungle, but you're really only a short distance from Ubud. Our driver (recommended by the owners) picked us up at the airport and brought us directly to the villa. We felt welcomed the minute we step thru the door.

Walk or ride one of the provided bikes thru the rice paddies, take a morning swim, relax on the outer deck with coffee and watch the sun come up. As an extremely busy business owner with literally NO time to relax at home, this was just the escape we needed.

A maid/housekeeper comes each morning to make a delicious breakfast and fresh fruit smoothies then quietly continues on with her morning routine. She'll even do your laundry if you ask her (for a nominal charge)! In my opinion, she's amazing! Our driver, Made, came every day to take us on our sightseeing excursions and what a wealth of knowledge he has! We had our very own tour guide! He shared so much about Bali with us. He really made our vacation the best! If you need a driver, I would highly recommend him. They don't get any better!!

The villa is exactly as pictured. The bathrooms are 'outside' but there's a wall around it so you have all the privacy you need. We found it very interesting and don't let this feature put you off! The tub was a challenge though and the one time we tried to use it, we found filling it would have taken a really, really long time as the water was very slow coming out of the faucet so we gave up. The shower worked perfectly and we were happy with that.

The beds are very comfortable and have mosquito netting. There's plenty of storage to unpack your bags and the two bedrooms are opposite each other so if traveling with two couples, you have your privacy.

There's a TV with cable and a stereo if you want to listen to CD's or the radio. We didn't come to Bali to watch TV so we never turned it on, but it's there if you want it! We did listen to CD's and one that was left there was music performed by the owner. We really enjoyed it and listened to it quite a bit!

Overall, we loved every minute of our time at this villa and will definitely return!

Liked best: The pool, the size of the villa (amazing!)
Liked least: The gecko that makes an "uh oh" sound in the middle of the night!! But it's funny now!

This villa was absolutely amazing. It is a little bit out of the way but in my opinion is perfect for having privacy and still being able to walk to town. It is directly across the street from a temple and has a supermarket and street vendors right down ( and around the corner) the street. There is staff that cooks a wonderful breakfast AND will do your laundry for a small fee. Being the villa is mainly outdoor living, their daily cleaning keeps the villa impeccable. There is a trail on the side of the house that leads to town so a motorbike is not required if you have the time for a leisurely walk. Our routine was enjoying the pool in the morning and then sitting on the back deck that faces the rice patties for hours in the evening. Every night you could hear the music from the dance performances which made it a very unique cultural experience. There are two security guards that show up at dusk that provide an added level of security. The pictures are beautiful but the experience is so much more...

“Sunset drinks, space, understated style that is modern and traditional”
Reviewed 20 August 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Booked this place for friends coming here on business but needed a dew days of decent unwinding after a hectic schedule.
It was perfect for that!!!
The bedrooms are separated from each other so very little chance of disturbing each other.
Mosquito nets and air conditioning.
Full glass walls so you have the option of waking up to to the garden and sky.
Some people might not like the outdoor toilets and shower at first but fine by us.
Huge space so feeling of being cramped which I have seen in many other villas here.
Very generous swimming pool.
Great staff that will help as much as they can.
A little out of town so read the other reviews about using motorbike/scooter or catching taxis.
Can order food in and get delivery, many restaurants do this in Ubud.
Now there is also a great cheap vegetarian place not far from the villa, walking distance,
Called Warung9
If you have young children be aware the swimming pool is not fenced.
Check before booking about the rice growing season. As in other reviews there can be a little extra noise or smoke from burning. But dont let it put you off!!
It is part of being in Bali and experiencing the cycle of farming.

“Excellent Villa”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I hired this villa for a week in June by myself before moving onto a hotel for a week in Nusa Dua. It was great to have the peace, quiet and tranquility for a week in the villa, not sure I would stay for a full two weeks as I would get a little bored as it is quite remote.

The villa is amazing and just as the pictures led me to believe. Made the driver was at the airport to pick me and was extremely helpful, he also took me out a couple of days on day trips to see other sites. The rooms and pool were great, my only moan would be that the rooms are not fully secured at the top between the wooden frames and the thatch ceiling and have open vents into the bedrooms, this allowed numerous squirrels to get in every evening and run around the room and the main wood frame of the ceiling which kept me awake. Other than this slight moan everything else was great. (maybe the owners can look at this and put some plastic or perspex in the vents to prevent wildlife getting in. It did take forever to come close to trying to fill the bath tubs up with water as well, they are just to big to cope with the small callor gas water heater!

The bathroom was fine being outdoor but the stones that are on the floor you have to walk on to reach the toilet or the shower are not comfortable on your feet and do hurt trying to stumble over them, maybe a flat path would be better.

The maids who cleaned and cooked breakfast were great and very polite and helpful. Overall I had a great week in the villa, the added security of the two guards on the outside of the villa every night was also a good idea.

I would recommend the villa to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful holiday away from the hustle and bustle.
