Sixth stay here. Wonderful magical gardens... feels like you are in a national park. Accommodation all around the perimeter so excellent sense of space. X3 swimming pools and right on the beach front. No noisy motor bikes and good massage places and restaurants within very short walking distance. Good staff service and usual huge breakfast with an egg chef on hand for eggs any which way.
For a relaxing break from the noise and hubbub of Kuta and Seminyak, this is the place to choose

Need to warn everyone visiting this hotel
Finished our 4 week holiday with 5 days at this hotel,
Very clean and spacious with good food.....
Staff very attentive
BUT....... On our last night our safe was entered and all our cash was stolen, luckily credit cards and passports were left.
Can only guess it was a member of staff as they had to get thru a locked front door and also get into the safe which was locked with a 4 digit code.
Couldn’t involve the police as we were being picked up for an early flight home for which hotel was aware.....
So just Wanted to make people aware

Dear gazza017,

Thank you for taking the time to share your input and concern with us.

We are sorry that such unfortunate incident had happened on your last night with us.
As previously informed to you, a thorough investigation had been taken by our team and we found no evidence of foul action taken by any member of our staff. From the moment your report was filed in, our Reception team had advised you with the standard procedures in handling the safety deposit box, as well as offering assistance to formally file your case to the local police department, which you declined.

Accusing someone of theft is a very serious issue and should not be mentioned without any supporting proof or relevant information. We have advised the detailed chronology of the incident to your travel agent to clarify our part in the incident. We are open for any investigation required to solve the issue and more than willing to assist with any official inspection from the authorities.

Keeping the issue apart, we are happy to know that you enjoyed the service provided during the stay and favored the dining options by Byrdhouse Beach Club. We pride ourselves on a remarkable team with the genuine and courteous heart which distinguished us from other places in Bali.

We thank you for choosing Segara Village Hotel to care for your stay in Sanur and hope that the issue can be solved promptly. Should you have any further queries, you may contact our Management Team directly.

Warm Regards,

Segara Village Management

Good hotel, but not great. Layout of resort is nice, with bungalows dotted around the large grounds. We had informed the hotel prior to our visit that we would be celebrating a special occasion during our stay, but this was not acknowledged by Management. We heard other guests had been upgraded for similar celebrations, so this was disappointing on our behalf. However the most disappointing aspect was the beach, which is heavily affected by tides. We walked out of the hotel one afternoon and couldn't even see the sea, as it was so far out and the residue/seaweed left behind on the beach looked very unpleasant - not the picturesque Balinese beach that we had been expecting. There is not a lot to do in Sanur itself, and we arranged a few trips during our stay, including a visit to Ubud and the rice terraces and monkey sanctuary, which we would definitely recommend. Breakfast was ok, but the cook at the Egg station seemed very inexperienced and didn't understand a lot of the guests requests. Pool areas were lovely, and we had some very nice cocktails at the pool bar during happy hour. Probably wouldn't be able to recommend this hotel, and i am sure that there are many other, nicer hotels and resorts around Bali.

The beach in Sanur is favored by many as it is good for swimming and water sports activities. The area, in general, is rich in cultural landmark and community attraction such as temples and local markets. We recommend speaking to our Reception or Concierge team for further insight on the activities that you can do the next time you are staying in Sanur.

I will start by saying that this is not our usual type of beach hotel, we would aim to go somewhere much smaller, so I would normally have rated this as average/good. However, our view is too subjective, so in the interests of being fair, I have rated it very good - as it was if you like this type of thing!
We arrived in the pouring Monsoon rains and were escorted by umbrella to the reception. We were quickly booked in to room 459 which was the upstairs unit of a "bungalow". Room 459 was tucked away at the back of the resort and had an huge balcony area which led into a nicely appointed room, with a spacious bathroom. The bed was large and very comfortable, with a big chaise longue type sitting area at its foot.
The grounds of the hotel were beautifully landscaped, with little seating areas dotted around. There was a bar pool (largely unused whilst we were there), a large pool overlooking the beach and a smaller pool more suited to children. There were 2 eateries open when we were there, but as it was low season, neither place was busy and we felt a bit forlorn sitting in a large restaurant with only a few other couples around. There were a couple of veggie options, but they cannot have been brilliant as I cant remember either of them. Various shops and massage places were dotted around the edge of the hotel grounds, so once there, you did not have to leave the hotel if you did not wish to.
In season, if you like a bustling resort, with plenty going on, then this would be perfect for you.

We stayed in Segara Village 2 which is a small group of apartments for couples around its own private pool . The hotel complex had a variety of pools and pretty gardens. Food was good and included a Japanese restaurant. Excellent library of books and CDs. The hotel is located at the beach front with a bay of sand, fishing boats and plenty of small shops and restaurants. Highly recommended for families.

Room Tip: Upper floors are lighter
