We had a wonderful 2 week stay. The location was good, with a 5 minute walk to the beach and a handy supermarket just across the road. It was well set back from the road, so very quiet. The villa itself is comfortable and spacious, with the 3 bedrooms set well apart, so would easily suit extended family or friends. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to prepare your own food. We stayed as a couple and really enjoyed the pool. We found the bed to be a bit hard, but no bed will suit everyone and Kadek put some softer underlays beneath the sheets which really helped. Everyone raves about her and we can understand why. She is so helpful and friendly and will change money, wash clothing, clean, shop and cook. We felt so spoilt and learned a lot about Balinese culture as she speaks good English. On our second night there, there was an earthquake in Lombok, which caused some shaking at the Vila and she rang us immediately to see how we were going. She is also a great source of information about where to eat and organising a good driver who speaks English. Also to the owner Dave, who is just an email away and always promptly replies.
I have stayed here the last few visits to Bali.
This is the best.
We actually had to stay somewhere else for a few days because this was booked.it was hard to enjoy anywhere else after staying here.
The location the full kitchen with everything you may need. Bedrooms so comfy with air conditioners in each as well as fans in the open areas.
Pool in sun so can swim in any time of day.
Fantastic shop for any supply's you may need.
And Kadek. She is an absolute wonder. She help you out with anything you may need.
Would recommend this place to anyone
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Serena! The villa is in a great location and the layout is great for families. Cannot speak more highly of Kadek, she is what makes the villa stay so wonderful and our kids are still asking to return to see Kadek! We would definitely recommend!
Great location near Sanur Beach. Villa was perfect for our family with a refreshing pool, unique open design kitchen and lounge, and separate bathrooms and bedrooms ideal for having your own space. Kadek was a great support cooking an amazing breakfast each morning, changing our money and doing our laundry each day. Next time we won't need to pack as much! Ranuh was an incredible driver that doubled as a tour guide. He helped with day trips to Ubud, Nusa Lembongan, Kuta, Canggu, Waterbom Park and Potato Head. He provided a lot of Balinese knowledge to us during the road trips and personally accompanied us at many of the sights. This is a place to return to time and time again.
Our first stay in Bali and it didn't disappoint. Everything I've read about Villa Serena is true. The villa is scrupulously clean with all the modern appliances but still has the traditional Bali look. If staying with a group, there's plenty of space to retreat to if you need time on your own and with 2 TVs & an assortment of DVDs and a bookcase of books to choose from, there's no reason not to just stay at home and relax by the pool. We couldn't have faulted the location of the villa - one street back from the beach, across the road from a large supermarket, close to the markets and heaps of good eating places.
From the time we were met at the Airport by Kadek, our lovely housemaid, until the night we left, we were spoiled by this lovely lady. Every morning we were greeted with her lovely smile and amazing breakfasts - I recommend you ask her to prepare the local dishes rather than Western meals as I didn't find any meals in cafe's that came close to what she prepared. Nothing was too much trouble for Kadek. Washing, ironing, shopping for food supplies, arranging daily tours and changing of money were just a few of the tasks she provided for us. Our holiday was made all that more memorable because of Kadek.
Lastly - thank you to the owner David. He always answered my emails promptly and gave me invaluable advice regarding currency, tours & restaurants.
My daughter & her partner and myself would love to come back next time we visit Bali.
