“Fantasic ,proper holiday bliss”

We travelled with 2 families (4 adults and 4boys ages 8 and 4)
We found the relaxed pace of Sanur just perfect after a week in Legian. The villa had heaps of space for the 4 active boys to run around in . we spent the whole day of silence there (Nyepi day) which we were not silent but was one of our favourite days because we could just sit and chat and have a few beers.
breaky was great and even some fussy kids was not a problem .
Komang was fantastic, nothing was to much trouble for him.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone, we would love to go back

“Perfect for families & large groups”
Reviewed 27 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Our group of 11 (6 adults & 5 kids) have just enjoyed a 2 week stay in this comfortable & spacious villa. The owners answered emails & queries promptly and accommodated last minute changes with no hassle. The layout of the villa was perfect for our 3 separate families & the spacious rooms and grounds gave everyone a place to escape when needed. The warm & friendly staff attended to our every need. We wouldn't hesitate to return, or to recommend the villa to anyone considering staying here

“Quirky magical place”
Reviewed 14 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

This villa is magical. We were a family group meeting up from Australia and Spain, and we just loved it. The villa looks as though it has been designed by Gaudi on speed together with a hobbit, all odd shapes for widows and doors, big domed ceilings on most bedrooms, a fairytale garden with mysterious nooks and crannies and strange sculptures and a fenced swimming pool shaded by frangipani trees. My only criticism would be the odd slightly inconvenient layout - eg two main bedrooms sharing a bathroom. But the overall magic of the place more than made up, and we all absolutely loved it And special thanks to the manager Komang, one of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met.

Management Response

Hi Dom, first of all I'm so glad you had a wonderful stay. Komang really is a gem! I hope our advertising makes it clear that there are 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom. The Villa Sanur was originally designed as a family home, so sharing a bathroom wasn't considered to be a problem. Most of our guests use the smaller of the 2 bedrooms as a room
for children or extended family (as we do) and use the other very large bedroom with private ensuite as the second master bedroom. I hope this wasn't too much of an inconvenience and than you so much for staying with us - kristen

“The perfect place”

Oh! What a wonderful place! Would book here again in a heartbeat if we could get in again..... The photos don't really even begin to do the villa justice, so many areas for people to spread out, both inside and out. The kids (7 and 4) absolutely loved the place, they 'nested' in one room inside and their bedrooms but also roamed around the pool and outside. We were all happy to spend a few 'at home' days here during the 11 night stay.

Through the back gate, the beach is literally a 2 minute walk. A lovely café to eat at and a reasonable beach (for Sanur) to relax at.

For us, not really walking distance to anything else (lazy, lazy people perhaps) but Richard and Kristen have made sure that if you ring for a Bluebird Taxi from the home phone and give them the villa's phone number , the address is automatically uploaded. Same for a few restaurants, with young kids, we ordered in most nights. The Fortune Cookie (Chinese) was excellent, btw. My preferred spa (Aroma) also did pick ups no problem.

Special mention to Komang, the villa manager. Amazing. The three staff are just great and we LOVED the visits from Komang's dogs (absolutely no problem if you don't want them to visit).

I think that in Bali, there are likely to be some issues beyond your control - power outages, wifi issues, no water, swarms of termites etc etc (yes, we had all). This is going to be found anywhere. What makes the difference is how these issues are handled. Honestly, we found that the level of dedication to our comfort and relaxation and fixing any issue was impressive. No complaints.

Aesthetically, a beautiful property, where the simplicity is matched only by the number of surprises around every corner.

“Magical. Enchanting. Beautiful.”
Reviewed 4 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

What a mystical villa. If you want something Magical this is the place to stay. The bizarre architecture, with not a straight line in the property- yes even the door frames are curved, really works for large groups with 4 huge bedrooms, all with incredibly high domed ceilings with round 'portholes', flanking a huge pond filled with fish. The expansive gardens with pool has plenty of 'nooks and cranies' to relax and read a book with plenty of shade. The manager, Komang, was outstanding and would arrange anything for you, more push bikes, motorbikes, beer, activities nothing was too hard. If you want a stand up paddle board he'll get it for you. And his prices are the same or better than in the street. Believe me we tested it. and Komang is the man. He also has a beautiful young family and they live next door so are always available. We loved it.
