Clean, friendly and homey. Although it’s no direct access to the beach, but it’s only few minutes walk away. Main Street where the bustling main road in sanur, is just few minutes away. Perfect for a quiet family holiday and choice for private or shared swimming pool.

This is a hidden gem, truly hidden. The facade is unassuming, but the interior of the property has the look of a luxury resort. The 2-room villa with private pool was very nice, and we wished we could stay longer. Even the double-room was nice for a smaller family. Everything was easily within walking distance of each other, although it seemed as if the property was much larger than it appeared from the outside. The staff was very nice, and accommodating. We were allowed to have a late check-out since there were no follow-on bookings that day and we had a very late flight time, and they made it complimentary. The breakfast was good, with real bacon (!), although it was more worth it to get the "European" breakfast (that seemed more American...). They also had an option to have the breakfast brought to the villa, but you can get more if you go to the dining area (that was mere steps away from our villa door). Overall, a nice place for couples or families, and we would definitely consider going back.

The flip side of being a truly hidden gem, is that it is really hidden, down an odd alleyway that was a bit difficult to navigate with a large vehicle. It was also not very close to the beach, although you can see that already from the map. However, the beach (and really anything else) was a 15-20 minute walk away (or a 5-minute drive -- spent mostly getting out of the narrow alley/street). The staff was nice, but I wondered if perhaps they were nicer than usual because we had a minor disagreement during check-in (that was easily resolved); otherwise they were very nice and accommodating as mentioned.

Room Tip: 2-bedroom villa was really nice with a kitchen and lounge area by the private pool

I stayed at katala villas last month and absolutely enjoyed it. We are only there for 2 nights ( we were staying in 3 other areas of bali) but wished we stayed longer. It was close enough to the restaurants, shopping and sanur beach, especially by scooter (3 – 5 minutes), scooter rental was 100k IDR per day. The hotel will arrange for you to get it. The hotel is well hidden behind a wall, as are a lot of the villas in sanur, but once you go through the entrance it opens up to a small quiet paradise. The rooms were very large and spacious and very clean! We had an outdoor shower, but the rest of the room, was completely sealed so that prevented mosquitos from coming in, unlike in other villas we stayed in. The room had the most storage of all of our villas which I really appreciated. Also, when my husband was ill the hotel was ready to help in anyway including bringing him to a doctor if need be. The only point that could be improved on is the American/English breakfast. I did not try the Indonesian breakfast, and I wish I had. I do appreciate the option to choose my styles of breakfasts . Overall I just felt very comfortable there and relaxed. I would stay again ! There was not as much things to do in sanur as in other places, but we found a really wonderful gift shop called Gifts from Bali, and lots of other shopping there. Next time we will spend a little more time to explore sanur.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the villas are nice and cool, they are cleaned daily and the pool was very refreshing. The staff and nice and attentive and management helped take care of any extra minor issues or problems we needed to solve

Second visit here . 1st stay 2 yrs ago . It’s just as good . Quiet , well located , great staff and good food . Such amazing value for money . Only blip was mix up from hotel side with airport pick up despite being clearly arranged via multiple emails . But easy to forgive as the place is so good . Love the cute outdoor showers
