We stayed at Villa Senang for almost two weeks in May. It is a fabulous villa and we couldn't have been happier. It was spacious, clean and just perfect for our needs. Breakfast was either delivered each morning or mostly we strolled up to the Bali Bagus Restaurant (choice of Indonesian - mee or nasi goreng or Continental - toast and fruit, tea or coffee and fruit juice).
The lovely cleaning ladies came every second day (as per our request) and presented the villa just beautifully. The outdoor seating areas (3 if you included the rooftop area which we did not use) were fantastic, cool, shady and comfortable. The pool was a perfect size for our group of 5 to take a dip. It received sun on it during the day so was never too cold to get in (like some other villas). The pool was serviced each week. The gardens were lovely and really made the place feel like a home.
The villa was fully equipped and everything worked perfectly. A separate dining area was great to sit down and eat breakfast. The full size fridge was a godsend and someone had kindly left a mostly full large bag of ice, so we returned the favour to the next guests and left same. The cold drinking water dispenser was filled each time we drained the large bottles. Located minutes walk from the villa was a laundry service that we used as necessary. The non-express service was cheap and the clothes always came back laundered perfectly.
We have a small child and particularly chose this villa, not only for the terrific location but as all the rooms and bedrooms are under one roof. Hence we need not worry about our little one exiting his bedroom to the open in the middle of the night (and potentially coming to any harm).
Although being located right next door to the Swiss-Bel Resort we never felt imposed upon. In fact other than us walking past it on the way to the main street we hardly were aware of this big hotel. The locals were very friendly and we felt safe at all times (even walking home at night).
The Manager Mr Bagus was a lovely man, never intrusive and very easy to communicate with. A terrific bonus was the local mobile phone we were given to use during our stay which meant that we could contact Mr Bagus if needed plus also to phone through our breakfast order to the restaurant.
Personally this was my 29th visit to Bali over the past 34 years and while I do not claim to be an expert on all things Bali I believe this Happy Villa to be outstanding for value, comfort and location.
We plan to stay again next year!
Beautiful and quiet, set away from major traffic. All amenities included along with a Bali mobile phone for convenience.
TV and dvd player, as well as a microwave oven and good quality wifi, are all included.
Small size pool and beautiful garden with an outdoor seating area.
Just returned from a weeks break at Villa Senang.
Manager Bagus was his usual courteous and attentive self, nothing is too much trouble.
The villa has undergone renovations since our last visit, further advancing the quality of our stay.
Villa Senang continues to be one of the best value villa options in Sanur.
The local expat community are very welcoming, further enhancing the whole holiday experience.
Thanks again Bagus for your hospitality and the lovely flowers for my birthday, a lovely gesture, much appreciated.
Just stayed here again. Loved it all over again. So private and quiet and the girls who come in and clean are so lovely. Can't wait to return.
Lovely quiet location just a few minutes walk from the main streets of Sanur.
The villa is large with a dining area, kitchen, lounge and 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
All cleaned every two days by two lovely ladies. Breakfast can be taken at Bali Bagus warung or delivered. We had ours delivered and had Indonesian breakfast alternating between rice or noodles. Excellent every time. The villa also has outside seating, some covered which was a godsend in the rain. Loungers and plunge pool lovely to relax and cool off in private seclusion.
The manager provides a mobile phone to contact either the warung re breakfast or himself with any problems or questions. He can also provide a car and driver for days out at a competitive price. We did two days and could tailor each day to our needs.
Lots of places close by to eat, shame the swiss resort shut their back gates. Could have earned them a few beer stops or an occasional meal when it was raining hard. Bali was very quiet, probably due to Mount Agung rumbling and the wet season, such a shame so many people are not going.
Our only recommendation for the villa would be a stand with some umbrellas!.
If there is lots of rain, the road floods and you may have to wade out! It only made our experience more of an adventure! However, I believe this to be very seldom and only after extremely heavy rain.
Go and visit, the villa is great, the people are lovely and loads to see.
