“Slice of paradise amongst the surrounds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2012

Myself and my partner (24/25yo) stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in Bali. We picked this hotel on a recommendation of a friend and boy did it live up to expectations! The pool, restaurant and breakfast area are absolutely stunning and are a focal point of the hotel. We stayed in a superior room behind the reception and it was lovely. Rooms were somewhat bare (perhaps the tiled floor made it feel that way) but still really nice with a huge balcony overlooking the pool area. The service here is exceptional and the staff are always full of smiles and chatter. The hotel is in a great location close to central kuta (so very near 50 nightclubs), but you enter the gates and leave that world completely behind! Don't get me wrong, Kuta is still a lot of fun, but it's nice to come back to nice surrounds! I'd definitely recommend this place to friends and family :)

Room Tip: We chose a superior room on recommendation. If you were on a budget or with friends I'm sure the...

My friends and I just returned from our 10 day holiday in Bali. We had a twin and triple room and the price was really cheap considering the location of the hotel. The hotel is perfect for young people as it is right next to all the clubs and the main tourist attractions which makes it really easy to get around and for shopping.

The standard rooms which we stayed in were basic but had all the necessities you need. Once again for the price, we were not complaining. The breakfast was not as extensive but enough to fill you up. They had eggs made to order, pastries, 2/3 hot dishes and also juice and fruits. The room service was a little more expensive than the other restaurants and the portions were also smaller. The Indonesian restaurant outside the hotel has reasonable priced food and portions. The staff were generally well mannered and helpful but some of them had a severe lack of English. The poolside area was pretty good and on some days they had music or even a live band.

They guys towards the end of the alley were funny and don't rip you of as much. We generally asked them to get the stuff we needed to buy. Also go check out Underground which is in the alley. It seems like a 'hole' but the drinks are cheap and good staff.

I would definitely come back to dewi sri and recommend it to all. There were also a fair few families when we went so good place for all people.

Room Tip: Get a room on the ground or first floor as only have stairs. Standard room are all you need but may...

We had the misfortune to stay at the Dwi Sri for Christmas and New Year 2011. Two good things I can say about this terrible experience is, the beds where made each day and the eggs at breakfast where freshly cooked. Breakfast tasted and looked like rehashed left over's from the night/days before... every thing was cold and dry. We never ate there for any other meal due to the poor quality of breakfast. Same thing every day. As you look around the hotel there where plates, glasses, bottles and ash trays left there for days on end out side rooms. Ours, we counted three days before we asked some one to please collect them. There was no service at the pool bar, again people where going to the reception bar to ask for a drink. Ash trays where left at the pool bar from the night before full. Great to see first thing in the morning. There was no music or life around the pool area. Many people we meet complained how dead it was. Except for the rooster waking us each morning about 4.30 you would have thought you where in another world, HELL. The staff where welled mannered, but only replied to you when spoken too. They seems like they didn't care, huddled together and watched, but never in a hurry to help or go out of their way to make sure customers needed any thing. We had to pay for a compulsory New Years dinner (I WANT MY MONEY BACK) We where told where to sit. Family and friends where seated at different tables, the food again sat for hours in the sun before it was time to eat. The entertainment was some thing you would have expected from a pre school performance. Most people left, they didn't eat the food either. I would not recommend this hotel to any one. Thank god we only had a week there and moved to a new location with much delight.

Stayed in Villa 205 I think just above the pool. Good bed, good bathroom and good flat screen tv with lots of channels. The restaurant was nice but a bit pricey for Bali. The pool area needs umbrellas or its pointless in the relentless heat. Location is good, well as good as Kuta gets. Wi fi is rotten in the rooms and you have to buy one of those silly cards which never seems to log back out. The villas were very good. I felt like I was seperate from the hotel even though I was above the pool area. I would definetley go back to this hotel if I was to return to Bali. oh and breakfast was tastey enough and a nice perk.

We stayed here one night as a transit hotel. Perhaps the rooms closer to the pool are better, but our room as a simple twin - minimal if any decoration, had air conditioning, was clean. The biggest plus was that it was quiet - no noise could be heard from the room which made it worth the $50. I might stay here again, but would most likely try elsewhere if for no other reason than to get a little bit f ambiance (like in the advertised pictures!)
