A fantastic first trip overseas after a 20 year break. Staff were all friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The gardens were immaculate and well looked after. Whole visit was thoroughly relaxing. All facilities were very comfortable, clean and modern. The location was perfect to either chill out or just a short walk / shuttle bus to centre of Kuta. Deluxe suite was extremely clean and well appointed with a bath large enough for 6 and 1/2 foot tall son. Buffet breakfast was wonderful especially the egg corner. Free Wi-fi to all rooms. I will certainly stay here again. Thank you for a great first overseas trip for my son.

Room Tip: Deluxe suite is very accommodating for couples.

We stayed at the Patra from 6/2- 20/2/12 through advice of flight centre , saying it was 5 star and it had two bedroom suites for us , as we have two boys 7yo and 16 yo .
And as you do , you go along with the travel agents , they do get paid to do their job !!
Well ... never again will i listen to a travel agent !
The place is at the side of the airport , which is not too bad , as you dont hear the planes .
But it is not near anything else. yes , you can get taxis ( we had a private driver - Didit , an awesome man [--] - ring him if you want a very good , cheap tour guide driver )
but you cant just walk out and shop .
The rooms.... well yes we had two bedrooms in our Embassy Suite , but the place needed so much work on it . The walls were filthy , the tv so old , no dvd player , the fridge was so little and when you go there all you want to do is drink and you have no room in this tiny box fridge , it was a joke . The beds were so uncomfortable , so hard , like sleeping on a rock . The aircon upsatirs looked like it was going to fall out of the ceiling . Wall control for air in lounge was falling off the wall . Lounge was only a rickety old 2 seater not compfy at all and having 2 bedrooms sleeping 4 people were was everybody suppose to sit , had to sit at dining table to relax and watch tv at night , and half the channels reception was crap anyway . Free wifi , are you kidding .... it was so slow and you could only hook up 1 computer at a time . Thats no good when you have to take turns in using it .The rooms cleaning service was great everyday , but they did also just leave the cart at our front door all day long , making it difficult just to walk in and out of our room. Room service was very expensive , so dont get any . We got ice a few times to make our drinks cold as they dont fit in the fridge , and the ice buckets sat on our front porch for 2 days .
On the plus .... the grounds were gorgeous , the pools lovely , breakfast was amazing , the staff all so nice friendly and service great.
Having to stay a few extra days due to Air Aus grounding , we left the Patra ( gladly ) and went to a Villa in Kuta , Villa Ceria . ( where we were going to stay originally but were talked out of by the flightt centre grrr )
WOW , the villa was amazing ! Cheaper , nicer , has full kitchen , own pool ...everything you need . It had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and all for almost half the price per night than the Patra .
Will never go back to Patra and never use flight centre again .
WILL get our own flights and stay at Villa Ceria again !!!

It starts with arrival in the foyer with refreshing towels and fruit drinks. Incredibly attentive service from genuinely caring people. The suites are awesome. The breakfast is outstanding world class cuisine. Fabulous lagoon pool with Bales surrounding it and a sunken bar. Attentive service all round and terrific room service menu. All nationalities catered for. The Floating Lounge is a must. Slightly out of Kuta (south) and while close to the airport, the noise of planes is virtually non-existent. In house dining can get a tad on the pricey side (by Bali standards) but the quality is excellent.
An excellent experience, we will absolutely return! Thanks Robert, Sudama and all the folks at the Patra.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade if they are available. The suites are to the north (towards Kuta).

i thoroughly enjoyed my 8 days at the Patra. The hotel was clean and the gardens were amazing. The staff are very friendly and attentive . The choice of restaurants gave me a good variety during my stay. Some friends from work came to visit and were very impressed. I shall return .

Room Tip: top floor unit better layout.
