This is not what we expected. My husband booked this through trip advisor due to all the positive reviews however we did not find it a positive experience. The only positive was the ease of the booking with Karen. We had three other adults and ourselves stay in this villa.
Our airport transfer (Cat Cat) was not at the airport to collect us and we had to get a taxi. The taxi driver had no idea where the villa was and we had to use our google maps to direct him. This was very disappointing and an unnecessary inconvenience, especially as we had landed at 12:30am Bali time (2:30am Australia time) and we were tired from a very long day.
There is a Circle K and Indomart (convenience stores) in the street directly out the front of the complex. No need to purchase water as there are two water coolers in the villa. This villa is not close to the ‘main’ street and the walk to the ‘main’ street is a ten minute walk along a ‘goat track’. We were unable to walk out the front of the complex to get a taxi as we did not see taxis drive down this street unless they were dropping people off, which was not often.
A four bedroom villa and only one key supplied is not at all practical. This meant we had to coordinate our movements to ensure the person with the key was at the villa to let the others in. The safe upstairs requires a key (not practical either).
The air conditioner in the downstairs living area is too small for the area and even with both the air conditioner and fan going the room was hot. The lighting throughout the villa is not very bright.
The breakfast is very basic. We asked for American breakfast every morning however a couple of mornings we were served Indonesian pancakes (which we did not request and therefore did not eat). There was no consistency to the breakfast. Some mornings there was a lot of toast other mornings not enough toast. The hard fried eggs could be hard fried or still runny in the middle. The only juice we drank was the orange juice however we only received it on one morning. The other mornings we were served juice which did not taste nice and therefore we did not drink. We were not given options for the juice. Coffee was offered however when I asked for tea they had none. I drank water every morning and then went up the street to Gloria Jeans for a cup of tea. A couple of days they came back to clean our dishes but we cleaned our own dishes the other days.
The pool is very small for a four bedroom villa and the water in it is hot. The door to the pool area is very noisy when it is opened and closed. The pool was dirty and did not get vacuumed in the 6 days we were there.
The wifi is very good.
The main upstairs shower does not drain very well at all. The downstairs shower was very hard to get the ‘right’ temperature and was always very hot and we got burnt. The door to the ensuite opens if turned one way and does not open if turned the other way. The ensuite shower was very good. All the bathrooms had plenty of storage room to put your toiletries.
The white towels have discoloured and look dirty. We had stayed 4 nights out of 6 before our towels were changed. Some of the white linen is stained. Two of the beds had stained linen and did not get changed during our stay. We were ‘lucky’ if our beds were made at all!! The pillows are hard and high, which gave us kinked necks. We ended up using the cushions off the sofa for pillows which was not comfortable but better than than the pillows.
Our family of 7 had a great time staying in Karen's Villa Ceria. The villa itself was comfortable, roomy and we all loved it !!! The staff are so friendly and we could not have been happier with the help that they provided. The location is just outside of the busy main streets which suited us fine. There are some local restaurants near the villa complex which we found the food to be so cheap & delicious. We would love to come back again xx
We had a group of 8 guys stay at the Villa and from the moment we got there we felt right at home, the staff were amazing and the cooks are fantastic for breakfast. The villa is in a great location central to every major place you would want to visit. I highly recommend trying this little gem if you are travelling to Kuta on a budget.

Loved this villa.. there are 4 rooms... 3 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The whole villa is air conditioned and has a small pool. Breakfast daily was included which consisted of eggs bacon toast OR Indonesian rice or noodles plus Fresh fruit, pancakes and juice. This was plenty for all and delicious. The staff were awesome and nothing was ever too much trouble they were so friendly and helpful and always smiling. Cat Cat the driver was fantastic and great with all my 5 kids (they wanted to bring him home) Karen the owner was very helpful and answered my many questions while booking the villa. She has a list of useful information that was fantastic and a great help when trying to find places to eat etc. Great location just at the back of waterbomb park and only a short walk to the main street of Kuta.. WE WOULD DEFINATELY STAY AGAIN.
We have rented the villa for 11 days, and it was great. We were with 8 persons, 6 adults and 2 children. The rooms are great and clean, the swimming pool was very nice. We got breakfast included and every morning it was delicous, american or indonesian breakfast, it was both very tasteful. The communication with the owner (Karen) is excellent, always a quick repsonse. Next time we go to Bali, we will certainly rent again with Karen. Thank you very much!!
