I can highly recommend kusuma sari villa, if you look for a quiet and relaxing place not too far from Ubud. You will need transport though to get around as the place is in sukawati village. The houses are nicely decorated, I loved the outdoor shower and the comfy bed. The garden and pool are wonderful, straight out of Alice in wonderland :)

We stayed here in sept2013. Virtually the only guests there which meant we had the place to ourselves.
The setting is indeed beautiful and apart from the barking dogs in the distance, which really wasn't an issue, the place is pin drop quiet.
Our room overlooked the pool and was very comfy. Clean, airy and large.
No coffee making facilities meant we had to wait for the kitchen staff to arrive at about 7.30.
Breakfast was ok but not a lot of choice. Your standard Indonesian with some local fruit.
This place is quite a way out of the main town of Ubud, which meant a taxi or private car that cost about $10AU each way. The town of Sukawati is a 15min walk away and there you'll find local markets with street food as well as cafés selling to the locals. The markets are a good day out but be prepared for the over enthusiastic sellers who won't take "no thanks" for an answer.

Our whole 1st trip to Indonesia was soured on the last day by the manager of Kusuma Sari handing us an invoice for all the trips to and from Ubud, which he offered without telling us there was going to a charge.
If I'd known we would be charged, I definitely wouldn't have bought him lunches, dinners, cigarettes, drinks and/or coffees.
Very disappointed by that but we were Indonesian Virgins then so if there is a next time, we'll be just a bit more wary.

this is my 2nd visit to the villa. last time i stayed in the big master room.. this time, i decided to stay at the smaller superior suite.

VS2, was our villa number.. There was rain almost every night , and scattered throughout the day too.. but sun was pretty strong also.. bring your sunblock

Villa is still green and cosy as usual. But think it needs a little bit of renovation, as some of the places are a little worn out.

I liked the shower area, it was huge, and in addition to this, there was a big outdoor shower(for the more adventurous) as well, including a huge bathtub outdoors.

Size of room is just enough for the 2 of us, with a nice sofa and big bed. It's also very relaxing to just sit at the balcony and listen to the sounds of nature.

Because of the many plants/trees, please bring some natural insect repellant, if you are afraid of mosquitoes.. or use products with lemongrass/citronella, it will definitely help.

This place is definitely value for money, and a great place for relax and peace and quiet.

Room Tip: If you like a big living room to watch TV and relax, choose the bigger suite. Else the small one is good enough.

What a wonderful experience, staying at the Kusuma Sari villa. A delight to the senses; surrounded by secondary forest, the villas are at one with nature, and are guaranteed to provide an idyllic holiday. Quiet and peaceful, the sight of butterflies fluttering around; and the sound of crickets are about all you hear. Manager Wayan is welcoming, and his staff are polite and helpful. Local markets are within walking distance; and this is not a touristy spot, so you don't feel the overcrowding of Ubud. Wayan and his staff offer transport into Ubud; and that's really convenient. We really didn't want to leave; but alas, reality has to bite sometime. We are hoping to return soon. (Adrienne and Adrian Pereira, Singapore)

His recommendations are really good and ask him where to find delicious ribs :) not easy to put evety th hing into word s .u git to experience it yourself

But trust me, u'll not regret
