Our stay at Udaipur would not have been so delightful if we would have stayed elsewhere. Heritage hibiscus guest house near Leela Palace at Chand Pole was the the USP of our trip !

It gives its guest not only a visual treat(because of the beautiful and picturesque location and tastefully done decor), but the warmth and hospitality that is surely unmatched.

We spent 4 quality days there and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Mr.Sharafat who is the care taker is soft spoken and helpful and would tell you the list of places to be visited in detail. He arranged a taxi(Mr.Praveen) for us too , to visit kumbalgarh ,Ranakpur and Mount Abu.You can trust them on this.

The other staff members were also very courteous and took utmost care of us and other guests.

Our room 106 was lake facing that was the icing on the cake. Each room in general has a beautiful sitting area where you can relax and unwind! It has all basic amenities to make your stay comfortable.

The roof top restaurant gives a breath taking view of Lake Pichola where you can spend your evenings and enjoy a romantic meal with your spouse. A must on the to do list!

A total value for money stay and would recommend strongly to those traveling to Udaipur!

The place was recommended by a friend. I travel extensively in India and overseas, for work and fun. And this has been my worst experience so far. My travel mate was in touch with the owner/manager and he was aware of our arrival timings. After 13 hours of overnight train travel we arrived to find out no booking had been jotted in the diary. That is where our woes began. The person at the desk was very slow and inefficient, after a lot of prodding he reluctantly took us to a room that smelt foul, and needed airing. We insisted on another room. We had to ask him for drinking water, hand towel etc, which should be in the room. And when we asked him about breakfast, he replied the choice is either poha or paratha. We were surprised as all places show you a menu or atleast give you more choice - Indian and continental. And when we asked for a second paratha they said we would be charged extra!! While we were having our `one' paratha, a tourist arrived with her son for breakfast. And guess what? Magically a menu appeared, juice, pancakes, fruit, fresh coffee, et al. Imagine being discriminated on the basis of our colour in our own country. Even after we spoke to the staff about it, they were unapologetic. We were forced to move out and find another accommodation. Its absolutely shocking, that being in the hospitality sector, they don't know how to treat their guests irrespective of colour or gender or race.

Guests opting to have their breakfast included in their room rate will receive a different menu to those choosing to pay for it separately. A breakfast included option also means that the idea of "if I want five parathas you have to give me five" doesn't work. We never discriminate here, a guest is a guest irrespective of colour or gender or race. I am a female as are you.

This place is amazing! All very tasteful and well taken care of. Our room with the window seat was splendid and service was stellar from beginning (starting with welcome tea) to end. This was our first stop in India and they really helped us get our bearings and navigate Udaipur. I believe the owner is connected to one of the bigger, fancier hotels in the city which explains why this place is run so well. The rooftop restaurant is also a great spot to chill after a day in the city. 5 stars!

Thank you so much for your kind review. Sadly I am not connected to one of the bigger, fancier hotels in the city I am just a woman trying to make a crust for the staff. That must be one of the infamous Udaipur rumours that abound but thanks again!

A nice quiet guest house. Just a few rooms that makes it nice. The food was good and well prepared, but took a long time to be served as they had to go buy the items in order to make our meal. This is not so much an issue at this place but just the way small guest houses work in India. Free internet too.

Room tip: A little hard to find, but worth it

Yes, sorry they can often be a bit slow and I am glad that you understand. The whippings never seem to work! Thank you very much for your review. We hope to see you again.

We truly liked this place as it felt like a home rather than a hotel. It is small, has a homey atmosphere with local crafts decorating the walls, shelves and tables. Beautiful textiles abound. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We arrived late afternoon and were tired and starving and they offered to make our lunch. After ordering our food they ran out to purchase the ingredients to make the meal. It took longer than we expected as we were told "ten minutes" and if you know anything about India you know that IST is Indian Stretchable Time. It took about an hour to get our meal but it was delicious. We could walk to all the sights except the rope way which takes you up to a high vantage point of great views of the area and sunset photos. At one point I asked an employee for more toilet paper and he showed me where it was kept and said 'if you need more, feel free to get it as this is your home'. Indeed! I would stay here again. Keep in mind that old town is very noisy and congested with tourists, locals, cows, motorcycles, tri-shaws and cars all on narrow streets. I loved Hibiscus because it was quite and away from the congested areas. On the map it looks like it is far away but we walked to the palace, the haveli, etc within 10-15 minutes.
