Like everyone else says: Shashi's class is awesome and a great value. You make a huge amount superrrr tasty food, she's fun and interesting, and it's a very professional outfit. A highlight of our trip. Do it! And DON'T eat breakfast first (really, save room. Don't fret about hanger, there are snacks early on).

It's a well-oiled machine, but it's a good one. Don't feel pressured to buy the spices at the end (they don't do a hard sell but it can feel hard to say "no thank you" when you like someone).

Such a fun and great experience!! We learned to make so much delicious Indian food with Shashi. So yummy! Nice and relaxed atmosphere, who is such a warm and kind person (and a masterchef!) Make sure to try this cooking class! And make sure to come with an empty stomach, so you can enjoy the nice food. You can also buy some of the spices very cheap - win win!

An amazing time with Shashi, her son, and daughter-in-law. Shashi begins by telling her amazing story - she has worked so hard to get to where she is right now. And then the cooking begins! Everything from chapatti to naan to masala chai to curries. There was even a short power outage and she just kept on going. At the end we all sat down to an amazing meal, and left with some recipes. You can also purchase from her some spices, a proper cookbook, and some small spice containers or mortar/pestle. Highly recommend - but don’t plan to eat afterwards ;)

Shashi is an exceptional woman and an exceptionally good cook. She taught us to make an impressively large number of dishes in just 3 or 4 hours. We made chai, pakora, chutney, basic "magic" sauce, cheese, about four different types of bread, chickpea butter masala, vegetable pilau, dahl, ... a huge meal. It's all vegetarian but I am looking forward to creating butter chicken in my own home.

Spent last night at Shashi Cooking Classes - up an unassuming staircase into what was Shashi home - now for her great cooking classes. Great stories, lots of instructions and heaps of hands on for all. Started with masala chai from scratch plus the magic sauce which makes many different curries, pakora and breads. Finished with a delicious meal cooked mostly by us. I loved it. I would recommend to anyone wanting this type of experience. Very good price and access to buy all her spices at the end. Recipes provided... you can also buy her book. Favourite memory - hands from India, Holland and Australia all in the bowl kneading the chapati dough.
