These guys did everything right: wonderful, clean and classy hotel, friendly, professional and helpful staff, a super fun excursion to their desert camp (with camel ride, Rajasthani music and culture show, and yummy dinner and breakfast), great restaurant upstairs. I highly recommend this place. It's a short walk to the fort. But this hotel is not on the edge of Lake Gadisar.

We loved staying at The Helsinki House (there's a fascinating story about the name). While a recent construction, a lot of attention has been paid to create the atmosphere of a traditional haveli. The rooms were large, and very clean. So was the bathroom. We ate breakfast and lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was good. The owner's brother runs the place and is very friendly and helpful. They also have a desert camp where we stayed for a night. They are very open to suggestions and overall we really enjoyed our stay both in Helsinki House and the desert camp.

Jaisalmer is a beautiful city and probably has many lovely hotels but I can honestly say that you won’t be disappointed if you stay at Helsinki. It has recently undergone a major internal renovation. The furnishings and interior design are gorgeous. Rooms have excellent amenities- good lighting and aircon, large bathrooms, and best of all, comfortable beds!! The hotel restaurant on the top floor has beautiful views to the fort and a nice atmosphere. The food is also very good. This is a family run hotel and it shows- the staff are very friendly and Maru couldn’t have been more helpful. The hotel is a 20 min walk to old town and a short tuk tuk ride. I hope to be back one day!

The hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle and it is very quiet and cosy here. Surrounded by woods and from the roof terrace there is a good view of the fort. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food on the roof terrace is very good and the breakfast is rich. The hotel is run by Ishan, who is very friendly and helpful and is available to answer any questions. All in all, this is a great place to stay and the price/performance ratio is absolutely top. Highly recommended.
