We stayed here for two nights and were impressed by the grandeur and size of the property. The buffet breakfast was included in our room rates although we were able to get eggs and dosas made to order without any additional charge. Internet access was available in our room, the bathrooms were immaculate, and the staff professional and courteous throughout. There are music and dance performances in the evening in one of the massive lobbies, we did not have an opportunity to attend any of these.

Suryagarh is a beautiful property nestled a little away from the main city of Jaisalmer.
It was a very comfortable stay and had something for all.
The food was average and the bar can be made more lively. All in all, a super hotel that added to our memories of Jaisalmer.

Room Tip: Try and get an upgrade to the suites, they are truly worth it!

we were there for 3 nights in january 2012, it is a beautifually done up property, newly built to resemble a fort.
very well trained and courteous staff as you expect it to be in a five star property.
we had taken room with 2 double beds. to my surprise rooms were just normal size after the 2 beds were put in, it did not give the plush feeling that one would expect.
beds were rather small and not good enough for an adult and child to fit in.
hotel had provided extra cushioning on the bed, which made it totally uncomfortable, nothing like a comfort of good mattress.
to say the least it was a tough night.
to add to our vowes, airconditioner did not work the first night, and we were shifted to new wing with upgrade to suite.
it was not acceptable to go thru such night and for some reason which was beyond comprehension. luckily it was winters and we could survive the night without a/c.
food at the buffet breakfast was elaborate, i wish i could say the same about the taste. it was just about average. though the food served in the room service was good.
if i had to stay for 3 nights in the original allocated room i would not like to spend this kind of money. it was not worth the value.
location of the hotel is totally out of town approx 10 km and so moving without the car is simply not possible and you are always handicap unless you wish to drive everytime you wish to move out of hotel.
it had very spacious feeling but grounds for kids to play around was missing.
it is a rather expensive and not worth the value.

Dear Guest

Thank you for posting your review on TripAdvisor. I regret that on the first night you were discomforted by the air conditioning. Being an extremely cold winter the air conditioning were on heating mode and while you wanted cooler rooms we offered you a room shift to another independent wing. I completely understand that you were discomforted by the room shift but it was offered purely keeping your requirement in mind so that the next 2 nights you don't face a similar problem. I would surely pass on your feedback on the taste of the buffet food to our chef.
Thank you for your appreciation about the Room service food, the team and the service.

Regards
Arpit Pant

We booked 3 rooms on the exotic winter package (2 nights 1 day stay, breakfast and one meal) and were pleased to find one of them upgraded to a suite on arrival.

The hotel is built as a replica of a palace within a fort, and all facilities (room, common areas, restaurant) are top class. Gym is well equipped and there is an indoor swimming pool (pity it is not heated).

The highlight of our stay was the quality of service from all staff (reception, restaurant, room service and housekeeping), which made the stay very memorable. The Rajashani cultural performance between 1930 and 2130 daily in the main courtyard is a good way to spend evenings at the hotel.

The Surygarh hotel is a very new property outside of the town of Jaisalmer, part way to the dunes and camel rides. It felt like a true oasis after the chaos and sensory overload of the old town Jaisalmer. It is a beautiful property, wonderful rooms, very warm and gracious staff and very lovely spa. While pricey, they do their utmost to make you feel welcome and pampered. One highlight was booking our own private camel ride in the dunes right before sunset, followed by a private tea in the dunes, where we dined and enjoyed the sunset. A true highlight of our stay. The food and service in the two restaurants was only fair to good - so that needs to be tweaked a bit. And the food is pricey for the quality. You are just isolated out there enough that you do not want to trek back into town for meals (and we didn't find any great restaurants in Jaisalmer anyway). Also we were disappointed that their only swimming pool is an indoor, unheated one in a dark room. We would have loved to have had an outdoor pool to enjoy and relax beside.
