We had a really wonderful few days with Debjit, Namratta and Shreevydia in this fascinating and somewhat eccentric hunting lodge. Debjit and family made us feel instantly welcome and their hospitality and generosity was second to none.
The moving geese parade in the grounds and the general local animal life was a great source of interest and amusement and watching the casting of the 2 fishermen on the adjoining lake in the warmth and light of the late afternoon indian sun is a happy memory .
Lovely local walks and really delicious food, especially the duck egg curry and the locally made curd, and the many more culinary delights....
This manor house has been renovated throughout many years by Debjit and his family and he has done a great job so far! Located amidst lovely nature, the house offers beautifully decorated rooms, large in space and filled with thousands of nice little things he has collected throughout his life, which makes you feel at home instantly! The mattresses are "heaven", too! Debjit & Namrata are very welcoming, lovely and warmhearted hosts and both have loads of interesting stories to tell - you could just sit and listen to them for hours....;) They love to share their home, their food, their garden and take you along to village walks, bicycle rides or to the nearby fishing ponds. It has a few cows and is run by biogas, has an organic veg garden and self-bred fish - and Namrata is an excellent cook! What more do you wish for? A perfect place to stop for a few days and "detox" from the India's hustle and bustle, to sit and read and write, to explore the nearby small villages and forest areas by foot or by the superb bikes they hire!
Hope to come again and all the very best to all of you!

Kila Dalijoda is a splendid getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is an old hunting lodge that has certain rooms renovated to fine standards, and run by Debjit (a descendant of the Raja who built the lodge), his charming wife, Namrata, and their delightful daughter, Sri Vidya. The family makes you feel completely at home, and take genuine care to attend to your needs and interests. There are wonderful opportunities for forest walks, bicycle rides, visits to local tribal communities, and a host of other activities. The meals are delicious.
We would not hesitate to recommend Kila Dalijoda to anyone who would like the opportunity to explore an off the beaten track, experience the rural environment and stay with a family. Extremely attentive and knowledgeable hosts who take great care in providing guests with all the information and means to follow their own interests. Possibilities include visiting tribal villages or historic sites such as ancient Buddhist monasteries. The property is being developed on sustainable agricultural principles, and the food is delicious with care taken to offer specialties of the region. Overall a wonderful experience.
Wonderful experience staying in lodge with superhosts Debjit & his wife. More then enough to see/do nearby if you want to keep it local or further afield is temples, ruins and more. Highly recommended!
