Just spent 3 weeks at the 'once upon a time' villa with 6 friends and don't have a heartfelt complaint about the property.
Yes, it's in need of a little tlc and as is the case in southern India, the beds are firm to avoid mattress water retention in the monsoon. Other than that, you'll struggle to find better accommodation for the price (our stay worked out at about £8 pppn).
The bedrooms are a decent size (3 with a/c, 2 without) and the bathrooms (wet rooms) are clean and functional.
The kitchens (kitchenettes really) are functional with twin gas burners if you want to cook.
The villa is split into two with 3 beds one side and 2 the other so a smaller rental is possible if you don't need all 5 bedrooms.
The garden and 'sit out' areas are impressively large with 2 hammocks to lounge in.
The wi-fi is fast and the owners provide a sound bar so you can stream music.
Jyothi and Abhi (the owners) provide all the info you need prior to your stay and if you have any queries during your stay, the excellent Safar (manager) will tend to your every need.
The villa is only 50m from the sea and the sunsets are spectacular.
Negatives - power cuts were regular and on 2 days lasted several hours. Also the litter by the sea spoils the paradise feel somewhat but these are not the fault of the owners more a general way of life in India.
Overall I highly recommend this rental.
