We started and ended our trip to Kerala here and liked it so much that we extended our stay.

The Bungalow is a beautiful old wooden property with stunning rosewood floors and ceilings. The rooms are spotless and a real treat to stay in.

Neema and Prasad are wonderful hosts, and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and 'at home'.They are full of interesting information about everything from Kerala's traditions and language, to local recipes and tips on where to go shopping in fixed price places that avoid the tourist traps. Neema is a wonderful cook, and the dosa she made us for breakfast was the best we had in our 3 weeks in India; dinner was also delicious and very good value (INR 450 per person for three courses). Neema has taken the trouble to personally check out other places to stay, such as near and around Alleppey and is happy to make all arrangements for you without charging anything for this service.

We liked that this homestay is in Vypeen in a residential area because it was quieter and less touristic than staying in Fort Kochi itself. The Bungalow is just three minutes walk from the ferry terminal, from where ferries leave for Fort Kochi every 15-30 minutes - a ten minute crossing for just INR 2!

All in all a great place to stay.

Room Tip: There are two rooms - a double with en suite, and a twin (two small four-posters!) with its own bathroom nearby (which is a little cheaper). Air conditional is optional, but even in November we found it worth having!

We started our trip to Kerala in Kochi, The Bungalow being our first stay. We couldn't have made a better choice! From the very first moment we felt at home! Neema and her family made our stay in their beautiful home a really memorable one! Of course the room and attached bathroom, like the rest of the historical house were spotlessly clean and filtered drinking water was provided. The situation on Vypeen Island, a few minutes walk to the ferry station with cheap transport to Fort Kochi and/or Ernakulam was perfect!
But what made the place so extraordinary was the family, their kindness, help in any respect, the time they took for talking and explaining things, the delicious Kerala style breakfasts and dinners ( not to forget Neema's unforgettable Masala tea!!), Olivia's beautiful dancing and all the organizing Neema did concerning our onward travel! She spent hours until every detail was fixed and when we had left, she just wanted to be sure that everything went fine, so we kept in touch until our final take-off in Delhi! Neema even spent a whole afternoon shopping with us, taking us to all these spice and fabric places, we wouldn't have found elsewise! And afterwards she arranged our fabrics to be sewn by a tailor, the night before our departure! But how to get the ready sewn clothes? Neema and Prasad delivered them to our last destiantion in Kerala by themselves! Who else but family members are so caring? When we will come back to Kerala , we'll certainly know where to stay and of course we can recommend The Bungalow to everybody else who is looking for a wonderful stay with family link in Kochi.

This was our 2nd trip to kerela and our decision to choose a home stay over a resort was a great decision. Neemas house is conveniently located at Vypin with easy access to Fort Kochi & Ernakulam town. Neema & Prasad have done up the house keeping in mind the historic significance of the place. The Bunglow is ocean of information, which we realized thru our stay. Coins from countries which don’t exist on the map anymore, newspapers which cost a ¼ of anna and a lot of interesting stuff.
Also special thanks to Neema and Prasad for being extremely helpful an going out of their way to help us.

We had two wonderful days in Cochin. It was a very warm welcome in Kerala and much more: Neema's best food, Olivia's beautiful dance performance, two nice rooms in a wonderful heritage house. Neema also organized a houseboat for us, she knows a lot about hotel recommendation and supports her guests very good with her knowlege.

If you want to feel at home while you are on Holiday - Neema's Bungalow Heritage is the right place. The two nights we spent with them was wonderful, everything from pick from railway station, our stay, food... all was well arranged. The food was amazing... Neema you are very good cook.
Neema & Prasad are so knowledgeable, infact one can know history of Kerala from them. They are wonderful host & the efforts they take to make their guest comfortable is something one can learn & implement in their own life.
The Bungalow Heritage Homestay - is a must stay atleast ones in a life time....

Cheers!!!!
