“Consistently good and reliably inexpensive”

Cochin Fort Restaurant

We have been to Kochi in the past and been to Cochin Fort restaurant a number of times. It is consistently good. The food is tasty and reliably good, the service is always good and the price is really inexpensive. Returning on this occasion was no exception. Whenever we are in Kochi we will always have at least one meal here!

Located opposite the more fancier and expensive restaurant Brunton Boatyard, this restaurant has open seating as well as indoor seating.
Menu is decent, fresh seafood available. Due to the recent ruling by the government, only beer and wine is available, since this property is not 5 star.
We ordered a few beers, grilled prawns, chicken 65, chicken gravy, beef fry and tandoori rotis.
Prawns were uncooked, chicken and beef were good.
Service is very slow, only 1 person was moving around taking and serving orders, everyone else just standing around doing nothing.
There were a lot of mosquitos around, take adequate precautions when you visit.
Recommended if you want to have a mid budget meal with expensive beer.

A good Restaurant cum Wine and Beer Parlour on the River Road towards Fort Kochi Beach. We had a full fresh water fish cooked as curry and fry along with rice and chappathi. Parotta with ethnic style beef was very tasty. The friendly approach of the proprietor and hospitality extended by staff demands appreciation .

R250 a beer ! - that is a rip-off, when you consider that the bottle store charges R80 retail, this is really going to far
