Hotel Poojna international-Mangalore-
This is one of the oldest Hotel in Mangalore and is located in the heart of the city. It is conveniently located near the railway station- 5 minutes walk from railway station & also 30 minutes (13km) from airport,The famous Sharavu Ganpati temple was just near the corner, the city bus stop is also at walkable distance from the hotel. The nearest beach is 12 kms away with lots of Malls, hotels nearby. The hotel provides 24 hr check-in and check out process. The Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Free Wifi is available in lobby. The restaurant is on the first floor and serves good and delicious food. The complimentary breakfast was fine.
Since the hotel is over 20 years, the Rooms are outdated and needs serious up gradations though the rooms are pretty neat and hygiene.I have been visiting Mangalore for business purposes since 1998 and stayed at this hotel several times and found it to be an excellent and well maintained hotel.Overall a nice atmosphere and friendly staff make your stay here pleasant and great experience.

Room Tip: the hotel provides 24 hours check in/out

The hotel was constructed about 30 years ago. After that they never have done any maintenance of the hotel building and rooms. Half of the bulbs and switches in the room do not function. There is no proper electrical outlet to use laptops. No WiFi Internet in the room. They have WiFi Internet only in the lobby. There is no tea/coffee kettle in the room. Towels are very old and looks unclean. No proper wardrobe in the room. Electrical power supply goes on and off many times. Every time the AC has to be restarted which takes about 2 mins. The AC has no control -just on or off. Breakfast is below average. They have only idli and vada. It is ok with me. But if you want any other choice, then you don't have. Overall no value for money at all.

Room Tip: Don't select this hotel

We were visiting Mangalore for a day to attend a wedding. The wedding was in the center of the city and we wanted to stay close to the wedding place and that’s why we booked our room for the night at Poonja.
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city and the airport is just 20 minutes away. Our check in and check out went smoothly. The hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, nevertheless our room was clean and tidy. It had all the basic facilities. We had a complimentary breakfast and the breakfast spread was great. Overall, we had a comfortable and a good stay at Hotel Poonja International.

I booked this hotel just a few days ago. It appears to be old fashioned hotel. The furniture and the bathroom fittings are also old. However they have maintained the cleanliness. The staffs were helpful. Costed me around RS1400 at MMT per night. If you are looking for a budget hotel with ok look and feel then this could be a place you are looking for. Breakfast was complementary. It was of decent quality and unlimited quantity. However, the lunch is costly and our experience was not that great.

Room Tip: Go for AC room. Can look for other hotel if your budget is more than 2000 per night. Food is costly

It was a last minute booking yet we could get a neat and clean room. Buffet breakfast is not great but not bad either. Centrally located. Very friendly staff. Good front office staff.
Overall it is value for money. It also has many vegetarian restaurants nearby (as we were particular).
