The restaurant is part of Oberoi Hotel which offers a fantastic ambience. Service is exceptional with experienced and seasoned veterans. Food is very good although not really authentic Szechuan.

Went there for a business meeting with high expectations. Been to Oberoi Mumbai and Delhi several time and have always liked them so had expectations. Alas, totally disappointed, had better thai food from normal Chinese restaurant!
Started with seafood soup and chicken spring rolls. Both the calamiri and the prawn were overcooked and rubbery. Ignored it. Chicken spring rolls had more cabbage than chicken and only 3 pieces in a plate, probably saw we were three people so reduced the quantity accordingly! Sensing the quantity issues, we ordered prawn pad thai, chicken in red curry and jasmine rice. The quantity was quite decent but the quality wasn't upto the mark. A Chinese cook can make better, not to talk about a trained thai cook! You could count 4 prawn pieces in the whole pad thai! Overcooked again.
The whole meal was like you had put apprentices to make the meal, not expected from a five star restaurant.
Frustrated, asked for bill. Wonder again,450 RS for mineral water in a bill of 5700 RS. And that is without desert.
Highly disappointed, won't touch this restaurant again.

We began the New Year by treating ourselves to a meal at the Szechwan Court. Soft muted shades give the place a sober ambience, which is unlike the bold look that many Chinese restaurants sport. It’s this difference along with the eclectic menu that draws us to Szechwan Court again and again.
We began the meal with a clear soup with vegetables. As we sipped the soup, we noticed a gentle flavor. We then figured out that it’s due to the fact that the vegetable stock is slow cooked till the juices are fully absorbed. It’s not overdone, so we could still bite into the vegetables, not the mashed kind you know.
We quite like dimsums, so we opted for Thai asparagus dimsums with the dipping sauce. These steamed dumplings make a wonderful snack especially as the crunchy asparagus blends with a soft tofu. The appetizer set the mood for the conversation.
For the main course, we settled for caramelized onion fried rice with vegetables. Onions taste great when they are caramelized & add slight crunch to the fried rice. We helped ourselves to fried rice & my co-diner enjoyed the accompaniments like the crisp wok fried asparagus.
The meal was punctuated with aromatic light jasmine tea, & then came the dessert. There’s some interesting stuff in the dessert menu, so we were tempted to try the walnut and chocolate brownie with Earl Grey ice cream.
Agreeably Earl Grey is an afternoon tea but this black tea makes a great combo with walnuts & so a Walnut and chocolate brownie with Earl Grey ice cream is decadent as ever. My co-diner chose the Toffee banana with Kerala vanilla bean ice cream, which is also a good choice as it’s a contrast of textures. A hard exterior and soft interior makes it a hit with many guests and we are no exceptions.
Oh yes, coffee is a must try here. It’s not just the nice coffee, but it’s served with a coffee flavoured cookie, which is soft, chewy and somewhat chocolaty inside. We felt it’s not the usual cookie, there’s something unique about it, & we left the place feeling satiated.
With the water body in front, Szechwan Court is the place to relax over a good meal.

Over priced place with average quality food....not authentic Szechwan at all. It’s an adapted version of Chinese food. Ambience and service is good but far away from ‘value for money’...

Thank Vijay K
