Owner description: The Bangalore Palace was the private residence of the royal Wodeyar family. Built to resemble Windsor Castle, this quirky palace is filled with an interesting and eclectic collection of art and paraphernalia from a bygone era. The palace grounds are a popular venue for rock concerts and other music events.

A visit to Bangalore palace takes you to another time. You will be struck by awe and wonder at the grandeur and majesty of this palace. The palace is so beautiful and is adorned well. It is said that the famous Windsor castle chain hotels was built on the model of Bangalore Palace.

The place is well maintained and very clean, unlike any of the historical places and monuments, generally in India. No wonder, they charge very high admission fee to enter the palace. But still it is worth a visit.

Will recommend to rent the audio tour and enjoy the visit around the palace. Although it could be more well maintained, it is a beautiful place to visit.

This is an easily accesible palace. It looks more like a large, English mansion than a palace, to be honest. However, the rooms, photos and displays are good and give a great insight into the Royal family that still lives there.

Only one palace available in Bangalore. May not be one of the biggest but certainly one of the good places to visit. Stone building covered with plants which grow on the walls and nice garden in front of the palace, lot of moves were shot in this place during 90’s.
