Good quality North Indian curry/kebabs/naan and a reasonable stab at Continental/western. Cold beer and a good variety of juices
The same Nepali staff for years and as clean as you will get in Leh.

It's still not clear to me, why they named it Penguin Restaurant - obviously there are no penguins in India... Anyway: I was there toward the end of the high-peak season (September), therefore, not many people were there and the order arrived quite fast. The entrance is a bit hidden but centrally located in Leh. The garden with the trees has a nice ambience and the staff was friendly. The menu card was huge and offers a variety of different dishes (Tibetian, Indian, European, American) so that it would have taken weeks to eat oneself through the whole menu card. The price was reasonable and I will for sure visit the Penguin Garden Restaurant again should I be in Leh.

Want to eat fresh grilled or Tandoori trout? This is the place!!

The pizza rocks too. The ambience is fulfilling- eat under an apple tree or an apricot tree. Sip a beer if you please. But, mostly eat the food the place prepares - fresh and clean.

Wonderful place for a relaxed meal and conversations. The staff ate courteous, helpful and quick.

For a city dweller, this is inexpensive.

Went there multiple times during my summer stay, It's a great restaurant for dining under the apricot trees in the open. I would recommend checking the booking status before going to a dinner as it could a little crowdy and you might have to wait.
Hope you enjoy it when you are in Leh
