Recently returned from the Aldeia Santa Rita where we were spoilt with good food and very polite and courteous staff .The rooms are very basic and could do with some refurbishment but you only sleep in them after all .The beautiful beach is a short 7-10 min walk away down the side of the hotel but beware the sand can be very hot underfoot. We found the Blue Wave shack which offered a varied menu for lunch comfortable sun beds and a fairly decent loo .
Must say thank you to Lorna from the hotel reception who was very helpful and went the extra mile when I needed a doctor .

Room Tip: avoid ground floor rooms as lots of foliage and therefore lots of bites

I have been visiting this hotel on and off for approx 17 years , and it gets better year on year , IF you are after 5 star finesse , this is not the place for you ! standard rooms are relatively basic , upgrades are available but in my opinion hardly worth the cost. All rooms have aircon and a fridge that is re stocked weekly , rooms refreshed every day , Most residents are all inclusive , food is varied and of good quality , and the chef is always about checking quality :) breakfast is always decent , wines and spirits etc are available from 11am ! till late , entertainment is pretty good too. Aldeia Santa Rita is a lovely, friendly hotel with excellent staff and a community feel as lots of visitors return year on year... which speaks for itself!

Room Tip: avoid rooms near the road ...

This is our second trip to Goa, but not this complex, however we would most definitely return. The rooms are quite basic but have everything you require. The food is very good with lots of choice and the majority of the time is served to your table, other than breakfast and dinner. The most appealing thing for this hotel is the staff, who are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Babu, Suzumar,Sanjay,Morris, and Minal for being so kind, your all stars in my eyes. See you next year.

Room Tip: Ask for superior

Just arrived home after a lovely fortnight holiday . Would definitely recommend this hotel although it is fairly basic and a bit tired . For us however the staff and food quality more than made up for a few short comings .
All the staff work so hard to ensure you are well looked after , nothing is too much trouble . We found the food lovely and again the chef would cook almost anything should you have any special requests. The room although basic was spacious, clean and had a great air con system .
Overall a great holiday in a lovely little hotel smack on Candolim Beach , we would love to return . The only downside to our trip was the arrival/departure at the airport, so many staff and no one actually doing anything, the Chuckle Brothers could have organised the airport more efficiently!
Must mention Sukumar, Babu, Morris,Sanjay,Vincent and Shamim , thanks again you guys are the best !

Room Tip: C1 was a lovely ground floor quiet room

THE STAFF
all the staff from the manager to the poolman garden girls are so friendly and and helpful they are the only thing that made this hotel bearable
THE POOL
nice little pool plenty of loungers to go round abig tree overhanging the pool gives a lot of shade and u haveto keep moving around to get the sun with apool bar
THE DRINKS
A big problem with the drinks is they have no sugar free drinks its allpepsi from 2 liter bottles which makes the vodka ,brandy rum alltaste the same sweet and sugary if u can prove you are diabetic they will allow u 2 small tins of diet pepsi a day I wasn't expecting branded driks but a simple thing like sugar free drinks is the norm
THE FOOD
the food was ok not great but sufficient the sizzle nights are rubbish I orderd chicken in peanut sauce and it was terrible after every meal u get a sheet to fill in with 3 faces on smiley ,straight ,and miserable if u put miserable the chef comes out to say whats wrong with my food and after a couple of days u just put smiley cos its embarising having to explain why you don't like something the puddings are 90%what flavour ice cream do you want we orderd some chicken and chips the chicken was ok but the hour we sat there the chips never turned up ihad some nice currys and if u asked the would spice it up for u
THE BEACH
the beach is down a dirty little track past allthe rubbish from the hotel 5 mins walk if u are able bodied but a lot of people sufferd
a nice beach hut with decent beds a the best food we had all holiday try there garlic chilli cheese nan breads and tandoori chicken the beach looks beautiful but as with all of goa I saw so much chuffin rubbish
THE TUI REP
don't belive a word this man says he says he will try and fix a problem and does nothing AND SINCE WE HAVE BEEN BACK IN UK WE CONTACTED TUI AND HE HAS SENT A EMAIL OF MY COMPLAINTS BUT SAYS HE PAID US OUT ON SITE FOR ABOUT £54 36 P WICH I FIND HARD TO BELIVE A REP WOULD RISK HIS JOB FOR
SUMMARY
if I had got flight only and paid about £30 a day for a base I would have been happy but tui charged me the same as I could have gone to mexico in RUI hotel
people were sayimn its a third world country but I didn't pay third world prices ihave been to many third world countries but when u step inside the hotel its modern and clean

Room Tip: if u get put in j2 dont unpack
