Located on the banks of Hussain Sagar water body, this restaurant is very unique for its ambience and seating arrangements.
Dinner time lighting is very good. Soothing music makes dinning pleasant.

North Indian cuisine is too good here. Paranthas, Paneer curry, Chicken curries - just too good with taste.

One can have the buffet while spending near necklace road, tank bund here. The buffet will be good if not visited solo. some Non-veg items were unique. Had a good lunch here.

Very bad quality of cutlery. All the plates were smelling. We had ordered jain food but nothing was jain. Very spicy food when we had ordered less spicy food.

My second time to this restaurant in a fortnight, and I was sure impressed. Named after the singer from Mughal Emperor Akbar's court, Tansen, ignites your senses and taste buds to glory. As soon as you walk in, you are struck by the interiors, with inticately carved pillars, streams of water all along the walkway, soulful live quawalis and yum food. Bringing the flavours of Lucknow to Hyderabad, the Nawabi menu, is designed to please the palate of the Nizams and mine too.
We savoured the Dum Machhi Patrawali and Shikampuri Kebab on our first visit and Lemon Chicken and Chicken Biryani on our second visit.
Dum Machhi Patriwali is a whole baby sole fish, marinated in a piquant coconut and chilli chutney, wrapped in a green banana leaf, sprinkled with malt vinegar and cooked. Shikampuri Kebab, is a legendary dish, it is finely pounded lamb patties, spiced with cinnamon and peppercorns, stuffed with sour yogurt, herbs and pan grilled. One of the best, I have tasted till date. I enjoyed the papaya relish served, alongside, I even requested for more. The Chicken Biryani and Chicken were both tasty, full of flavour and spices and the chicken meat was tender.
Service was slow, on our first visit. This restaurant is always packed, for dinner, especially on weekends, a reservation would help.

Nice interiors. Somewhat noisy, with the loud music. Food selection was nice, though not by any means extraordinary. Good mix of veg and non-veg items, though I felt that the vegetarian items were tastier. Would go again.
