We stopped by on a recommendation from our French sunset sail guide, Jerome. It was a wed night and later we discovered from their brochure that they are actually closed on Wednesday’s?! We were the only 6 people there besides Roger (who was the server that night), his son who was cooking, and his beautiful wife. They were kind and helpful and the lobster ravioli, salads and bananas foster were all quite good! The atmosphere was also very lovely. They made us feel like we were guests in their home. We would definitely recommend this quaint French restaurant.

I normally don’t like to say “don’t go or don’t try”. But this called Chez Roger, is one of the exceptions to be made.
Roger, the owner, chefe and waiter, had the time to pick us himself on the Hilton Moorea. Sound strange? No, as he has is family working in the kitchen, he has time for all that. Besides, the fish in frozen and cooked directly when you order the “todays special”. Simply horrible, dirty and stupidly expensive. Almost a nightmare, if we were not starting our amazing 2 weeks vacation on the islands.

Roger greeted us for our wonderful night of Cooks Bay dining. We had the place to ourselves with the exception of the sharks and rays. The evening began with warm goats milk cheese salad. Sublime with just the right amount of cheese and croutons. We paired this with the tuna carpaccio drizzled in olive oil. So fresh! Suzy had the bouef in champagne sauce. Amazing. Cut it with a fork and just superb flavor. I had the Poisson pasta. Crustaceans in a light pasta and very light cream sauce. We had the customary Aix rose. We were stuffed but Rgear said we should try the tart de pomme with vanilla ice cream. Splendid. Roger also brought us some terrific Calvados. What an evening. One I will never forget. Merci beaucoup!

Amazing food, fresh and great taste. View of huge circling nurse shark and several rays in the bay from the balcony. No idea why this restaurant is not higher ranked

We ate here one night at the recommendation of the conciere at the hotel the owner could not pick us up so a taxi was arraigned but the owner drove us back to the hotel after dinner. This was a cute family owned business. The food was good we all tried different items on the menu and were very happy with the dinner. The prices are average for dinner off the resort not cheap but not outrageous. The place is cute and quirky. It was raining so har that night that we did not see the shark or rays everyone talked about. We would eat there again when we return to moorea.
