Especially great to visit early morning, around 8 am or so... Very few people, lots of big parrot fish in the second pool, clear beautiful water. Later on, at 11 am you swim among human fish... Haha

Take a water taxi for 0,80 and walk along a surreal trail. You will go buy a beautiful beach (I was lucky to see sting-rays swimming), a salt lake, a transitional landscape, and finally las grietas. Have snorkeling gear ready.

After walking along the trail you reach the narrow stretch of cold water which is a welcome after the walk along the trail in the Galapagos heat. Fish live in the water (which is quite deep) so bring your snorkel and mask.
Go early because it gets busy in the afternoon-we left around 2pm by which time it was already much busier than when we arrived and even more were arriving. Most people stick to the area of the pool right next to the steps so it's noisy, cramped and hard to see any fish becaue they escape deep into the water and you can't swim without getting whacked on multiple body parts by a child thrashing their way across the water.
Go to the end of that pool or the next pool(s) along and you will see groups of large fish in a quieter and much more enjoyable setting.

The trail takes around 20 minutes to complete and once you reach the water you can swim freely along a crack some 5 meters deep, 8 meters wide and very very long. Bring a snorkeling mask or at least some water goggles. The only down side is that your stuff has to stay there un protected, nothing bad happened or anything but just a heads up. Water is a bit warmer than the ocean but only a little.

Way too many people. We hiked from our hotel at Angermyer, and were greatly disappointed to see how many people were there. It was insanely crowded. Place is beautiful, but we left and snorkeled at the Finch beach instead. Maybe if you go first thing in the morning, it’d be worth it? The water is clear, but not sure if there’s anything to see other than rocks? The next day we saw exactly why it so crowded. We hung out at Angermyer hotel and watched packed water taxis dropping people off every a few minutes. They drop so many people off that several water taxis hang out next to pier around 5pm to transport everyone back. It’s mostly kids....
