The Chelsea was formerly owned by the Congress Resorts Group. It had and continues to have an older four-story part called the Annex and the Towers It was closed for over a year and now is owned by Tropicana. It needs help. Our room in the tower was fine and so was the bathroom but it was supposed to be non-smoking and smelled of smoke. The hallways need refreshing- really Tropicana management you can build a bridge but can't have clean carpets? The reason we stayed there in the past and tried it again is the beach location- a quick walk outside and you are on the beach. But the bad things (1) if you come in late there is no check-in or valet so you have to go to the Tropicana to valet park and to check in You hen have a long walk (take luggage with wheels) .(2) You have to pay for chairs, okay, but they don't tell you that the chairs, for which you would get a small discount are over a block and a half away at the Tropicana beach which is much more crowded. So the discount would mean spending $6.00 less so we opted for a quieter beach but if you are going to bring that bring towels! ((3) There is no quiet place to just sit and read if you are up early. I got up around seven and wanted to get...The Chelsea was formerly owned by the Congress Resorts Group. I got up around seven and wanted to get coffee and read a book while my friend spelt. The small pool was not open, the fifth-floor pool did not open until ten so I sat on the 5th floor There was a patio but no chairs and if you stayed in the lobby area there was constant music. Really- can't you spend a few dollars on some chairs on the 5th Floor Patio area. There is an inexpensive restaurant on site. Bring back the old restaurant- more interesting food, and no comparison as to taste. The food was poor and that will be the subject of another review. There are other restaurants on site which we did not change Managment give me a call and I can discuss why this is now a depressing place to stay.More
