Corte Grueso - which translated means thick cut - perfectly describes their approach to grilled steaks in this lovely restaurant on the outskirts of Medellin. In a place where there are no shortage of restaurants serving "carnes" Corte Grueso really distinguishes itself with beef that was flavorful, tender and served with great flare in a sizzling plate that sears in the juice and flavors. For those who love a NY style cut - try the Sterling - it's simply delicious. The meals are served with potatoes and a vegetable, but there are more offerings ala carte. Service is very friendly and helpful with our server explaining the differences between the different cuts. At night, the atmosphere is refreshing, there are outdoor wood heaters and serape blankets if the "cold" of the area is too much for you. With the wood of the grill in the air, it's just divine. Prices are VERY reasonable for Medellín and a bargain for those traveling with $$. Bonus is that the Indiana Mall has lovely little boutiques with interesting furniture and things to take a little stroll after your meal. Enjoy!! PS: As in most things in Colombia, being friendly and having a bit of Spanish will serve you very well.
