The ride is comfortable, interesting and cheap. The cable is part of the metro service and therefore it is included in the metro ticket.

We took the Metrocable to enjoy the view over Medellin. It has to be said that this view is quite a bit disturbed by the smog that is hanging over the town. Nevertheless it is a very efficient way to overview Medellin.
It is a very efficient means of public transportation in the context of the steep hills that Medellin has been built on. Definitely much better than cars or buses. Unfortunately the second stage of the Metrocable was closed so we could not go all the way to the top. But is was a nice experience

The Metro in Medellin is an efficient system, it is well planned out and has obviously been thought out. It has bilingual signs everywhere and helpful staff at every station. Maps are commonly placed in case you forget where to go, and the loudspeaker announces each stop as the train arrives. A cost effective way to get around and avoid traffic!

This system was specially designed for the people who live on the hills and have no access to transportation otherwise. It is a great and non stop service, you get on and off while the metrocable is still moving.
Great for transport and sightseeing of the communas ( favelas).

Well worth a trip out to one of the suburbs and back, but do try to head for Communa 13 too. The guides will tell you what a terrible zone it was only 20 years ago.
